Well, I think this post will help me also. I just pulled the pan off my 2000 to check bearings. I put it back together and used a pan gasket. now it starts hard and has a miss. It also dies coming to a stop. it didnt do this before.
Sounds like I may have the same problem. Thanks for the info.

I left out the oil pan gasket deal because I didn't think it was important. I started thinking real hard and realized it had to be my problem because adding a gasket will knock the sensor's air gap off. Scraped it off and siliconed it and I am good to go!!!
