Oooohhh, that's an awfully nice Teg. Yeah, I might take that as well.

As for the overall voting, I didn't cast a vote. A couple years back, I would have said a heavily modded Skyline R34 or MKIV Supra TT without a second thought. I still might, but I also might get sucked into the incredible appeal of a supercar like a TVR Tuscan R, a Ruf Turbo R, or a Koenigsegg CC - once the flat 12 engine is completed and implemented into the design, of course

I would have to say a Ferrari 550 Marranello (sp?) because if I didn't like it, i could always trade it in and buy a RX-7, and maybe drop a 20b in it :smoka:

im gunna take the prestige and history of a ferrari or a porsche or aston martin or any one of those long lines of cars. imho even if the r34 could kik its ass the looks and class that follow it are enough for me. i may be a bit clouded though as i just got back from watching the new bond for a second time and i went to the SF international auto show on tuesday and saw ferrari 575 maranello and the vanquish and bond vanquish along wiht a shit load of other nice ass exotics.

I thought we weren't supposed to make ridiculous comparisons.

Q:A Ferrari or a souped-up Honda.... whats wrong with this picture?
A: everything

the sane people would choose the supercars. how could you justify choosing a toyota over a porsche? or a honda over a ferrari etc... its just crazy

jay...the comparo isnt as insane as you think....if you dropped the right amount of cash into a honda/toyota/mazda/nissan whatever you could have a car that goes just as fast as a ferrari..so technicaly it isn't that insane a comparo.

but true...if ur bragging to friends itd be a lil embarrassing to be ...ya the vanquish was nice but the civic just beat it in looks or some stupid ass remark like that

ok, you can get a civic to go as fast as a 911, or whatever. but it will still be a civic, it probably wont handle as well, and it will still be a civic!

and whoever could think that a souped up civic could look better than a Vanquish has no taste, and quite frankly should be shot... it might be embarassing to hear someone say "yeah the vanquish was nice but that civic somehow managed to beat it on the straight", but if they say the civic looks better the only person that should be embarassed is the idiot who makes that comment.

i wouldnt go as far as saying that people who choose the looks of a honda over a vanquish or a 360 are stupid but man they have really bad taste. hoda is a good car but it is shit for looks comprared to those no matter how many dollars you put into the thing.

I know a lot of super car owners, (I talked to about 3 of them today) and I know a lot of ppl who have money to own a super car but for thier own reasons choose not to.
And all of the super car owners I do know have another car that they use everyday. And usualy it is something very common, and quite often Japanese.
Some of them maybe a little mad, but all are quite sane and all have thier own justifcations for owning the cars they do, but quite simply a $200,000 Ferrari or Lotus or Lambo does not make a very practicle car. Infact they are a pain in the but anywhere but on the open raod where they are designed to live. But them in the city, in rush hour traffic with a load of groceries, your brief case and some golf clubs and you soon realise why someone might choose a Honda.

Good point, but if you have $200,000 invested in a superhonda you WONT be using it for grocery runs.

I concur. Given the choice between the two why in the world would you not chose the exotic? Other then saying things like the insurance would be to high, their is no real good reason. I dont care how decked out or tuned a Honda is - they are not in the same league. Speed isn't everything, if it was then we'd all have our asses planted on a crotch rocket.

I have driven a 456GT through peak hour Turin traffic and it wasn't a nightmare at all, I actually quite enjoyed it, PLUS if you want a practical supercar then thats the Germans are fore (ie Audi "S", ///M, Porsche, AMG

Well Iv driven an 88 Esprit Turbo in rush hour traffic in Tauranga, and it was a bit of a handfull.
A 456GT is a bit differnt though, its a some what more sophisticated car.
(I bet it has a more friendly gearbox )
