Have hardly been on AF at all this year but last time around realised that Formula was noticeably absent. He would normally post like 10 times a day. Weird for him to be AWOL since April?

My bet is he probably doesn’t have his car anymore. I stopped hitting up AF religiously (even at all) once my Z started being taken apart – can’t even remember if that was in ’06 or ’05 it’s been so long… Once she’s finally back together again I’ll probably be here posting my stories or asking advice for the new setup.

But can you imagine if John ditched his LT1 Firechicken and is now a glorified and righteous LS1 man!

Well it wasnt just a regular Lt1.. it was a 383.. so I kinda doubt he just said "Ehhhh imma git me a Lssss1"

His was indeed a 383 and I think he had or was considering adding a blower as well.

Still - with the kind of shit that's out there now (LSX blocks, 427 LS7 crate motors, supercharged LS2's - not to mention the older 2002-2004 Cobra's pushing 500+ RWHP with a simple pulley & tuner mod) a 383 LT1 is really not that scary anymore. I'm about 5 months away from finally completing my new 383 LT1/4 - billet splayed bottom end, all forged internals, new 210cc AFR Eliminator heads (2.08/1.60 8mm LS1 style valves & valvetrain), .580-.620 hydraulic cam setup, 11:1 NA - and I already know I'm not even going to be able to seriously compete against any of the new shit that's out there. 500 RWHP is like the bloody benchmark now! I've even gone nuts with an entire BMR setup from k-member to xtreme torque arm just to give me every bit of an edge as I can get, because I know my Gen II setup is going to need it.

Eh I was in a performance shop a few weeks ago and saw a new black 427 Z06 up on a hoist with one of the rear tires removed. Couldn't see the engine bay obviously but besides the aftermarket rims the thing looked as stock as any other, and I kinda smirked wishfully thinking "ya, this 'could' be my game when I get my car back"... Then I walked underneath the back of the car only to discover the big, and I mean REALLY BIG turbo unit nicely tucked up in between the rear end and exhaust pipes. I could hear the Duffman voice in my head going, "OH-NO!" lol
