Re: jeep cherokee miscredit

That one is good, but it's often on poseur jeeps that have a 29" lift kit and have never seen a gravel road.

Re: jeep cherokee miscredit

When I lived in Tallahassee I would see at least 30 lifted pickups and trucks a day. 99% of them never saw a speck of dirt road

Re: jeep cherokee miscredit

I haven't seen too many places off road around here that I can't go in my suby. Sand is real nice.

Re: jeep cherokee miscredit

Why did he put slicks on that car? He could dump the clutch at 18k and still not break the tires loose

Re: jeep cherokee miscredit

You WOULD have to be a complete tool to put slicks on a cherokee to punch it into the 15's.

Re: jeep cherokee miscredit

^^ Wouldn't matter, even with perfect traction a 89 Cherokee is not a 15 second vehicle. I doubt it would hit a 15.0 starting the 1/4 from a 30mph roll.

Re: jeep cherokee miscredit

I am not that good at math to figure it out, but I would think it would probably be a low 16 sec truck from 30 mph.

Re: jeep cherokee miscredit

well, speaking of cherokees, my friend had a 5.0 v8 one i think that was the liters. put a huge k&n typhoon intake on it, longtube headers, and a straight pipe exhaust.

just brake + gas launched it at the track, with the back seat taken out, and ran a 14.5. thing is a brick, but the launch helped him like nuts.

kinda like this

Re: jeep cherokee miscredit

I think you are all missing the point.

The question is not "why did he put slicks on a Cherokee".

The question is:

Why did he waste his time bringing a 17 second Jeep to the track?

Re: jeep cherokee miscredit

You have to be kidding me?

There is NO way in hell you're going 15 flat in the 1/4 in a Cherokee. The 4.0L I6 is a motor with a lot of torque. It was made for pulling not hauling ass.

Re: jeep cherokee miscredit

I ignored this thread for a while. Two things: R/T doesn't matter in your time (aka you don't know what you're talking about), and your alleged trap speeds are too low for those times, maybe you were running the 1/8 or 1000 ft. definitely isn't a 1/4 mile. 1/8 and km/h sounds more believable.
