Re: anti-lock brake light
The only time my ABS light came on in my Buick was when the brake line ruptured. Of course, I knew it right away as I had no brakes. The ABS system, works great when it works, but sounds pricey when something goes wrong and you need to get it repaired.
My new car ABS brakes were an option. I'm sort of glad that the ABS option was deleted. I drove for 27 years before ABS became available then 15 years with them and never found the need for ABS while driving defensively. |

Re: anti-lock brake light
Personally I'm fine with ABS and I would not buy a car/truck/SUV without it. Also, you have to realize that the ABS system is the basis for the traction control system and low tire pressure monitoring system both of which come in handy.
