Mate here's some advice.

Full aftermarket exhaust system
High flow aftermarket air filter thats getting cold air (but not water)
ECU tuned by a speed shop.
Advance the timing
Bigger throttle body

Then you can get the head worked and get into internal mods like high-compression pistons etc.

Convert it to manaul or get the auto modified.

All the rest of ya's - there are mods you can do before FI fer chrissakes!! (and I do love turbos)

I would have to agree with just about every person in here. Hondas just have the torque. Those are really the only two ways to get some better torque.

Just remember, it is easy to rais your HP, but the torque can be very difficult.

Why do all that all spend all the money that everyone has in their suggestions?
Why not swap out the final gearing in the axle or transaxle? Swapping out from....let's say a 2.55:1 final and put in a 3.15:1 would give a nice small acceleration boost.
Your RPM's on the highway would go up, but you sacrifice top end for more acceleration.
Check with your car manufacturer and see if there are alternate gear ratios for your vehicle.

Then you can bolt on all the extra stuff you want....

RE

Smaller wheels, manual valvebody for your AT, or about a 50hp shot of NOS will all increase your acceleration.

get a performance computer chip...those ussually give you horsepower in the high rpms, and torque in the lower rpms.

blah...screw the supercharger....get a turbo.

You'll get more power and more torque

Nitrous is great but you will start getting greedy with it.

The Auto is actually good for drag racing (especially with a turbo) because your consistant and you don't have to worry about missing gears. Get a good shift kit and a torque converter with a stall right where you were to start builing boost on the turbo. Torque brake it and you'll be launching in boost. You will launch hard.

Turbo's take time to spool up...true...but with a properly sized turbo you will make full boost by 2-3K rpm.

All the other mods are great....but they'll get you 20 or s WHP. Do the right thing and go with big power. My friend at work has a 97 Hatchback. Put an LS motor in it (NONE VTECH), hybrid T3/T4 turbo, wastegate, BOV and a bigger fuel pump and the thing runs 12s.
