Re: Starting Problem--please Help

Thank you guys. This problem just happened within this tank of gas. It's not for my usual gas station. I happend out of gas, so I stop by the small old SHELL gas station. I always pump shell, chevron, QT. I noticed another problem, after the first time of the problem, I changed the fuel filter. When I pull out the fuel line from the filter, there was not that much fuel spin out as it used to be. Especially from the output side of the filter, feel like no pressure. Since I just bought a 2006 Malibu, the recent two months, I only drive it once a week and less than 10 miles. Everytime I start the car when it was cold, it will crank about 4-5 seconds then got ignition. If hot after driving, it only crank about 1-2 seconds.

The parts which BigFordPartsStore have are genuine ford parts? Motorcraft?

Re: Starting Problem--please Help

I have a wagon ... I cut a hole under the back seat to replace the fuel pump.
I don't know if this method is possible on a sedan but it's worth a look.

"I have my car specially wired up so that if someone tries to steal it the fuel pump shuts off." Sounds good to me, but personally I'll take the Budweiser Trunk Monkey theft prevention and vehicle retrieval system. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ee3L9BQQ4Gs

So, I turned the key to off, took out the key, opened the hood for about 30 seconds, then I tried to start the car again. It start normally, everything works well.
It happened severl times, all in hot days. Could you please tell me which parts probably need to be replaced or what can I do?
Thanks.
Sounds like Either the Air Filter is Clogged or dirty, or that your fuel injection system is clogged/malfunctioning.

And according to my taurus service manual, you could have a defective Engine Coolant Temperature sensor.
