Re: Kinda new to the Camaro world

Well I hope you get everything sorted out.. maybe you can keep the car you just bought as a project car.. to fix up the way you want it..

Most dealers.. if that is where you bought it.. will tell you what they have to, to sell a car.. well so will most regular people for that matter..

Best thing you can do in a situation like that.. if it were to happen again.. ask them to remove the car from the trailer.. so it can be inspected.. if they dont want to do that.. then that might give you a hint that something is probably wrong with the car.. that they dont want you to know about until you get it home..

But like I said.. make it a project car.. and build it up to what you want it.. it could be lots of fun.. I would love to build up a 68 SS... since that was my first car ever.. I would love to have another one..

Re: Kinda new to the Camaro world

There isnt enough left to the car to build on. Im not kidding about that either.

No it wasnt a dealer. I asked if they could back it off as they claimed it ran. They said sure if we wanted to go get gas for it. So my father got under it and inspected what he could as we barely had the money for gas for my truck to make the trip. And we were not about to leave empty handed as the trailer was already registered in our name and we cant afford to just throw away $100 in gas for a 3 hour trip there and 3 hour back just for fun.

The car did not look too bad when we checked it out. We figured patch the floorboard and take his word on it that it ran as we had been talking to him for a week and he seemed like a nice enough guy.

Its no biggie I guess... Gonna pull the trans and take the rims/tires off and junk the car.

Also you mentioned a 68 Camaro. My father had one when he was young too. Man if it was a 68 in my driveway holy crap. for one my father would strangle me till it was his car then he would sit there with a shotgun to be sure nothing got too close.

I tried to talk it over with the guy and he just acted like a child about it. He tried to tell me the mustang was all messed up. I for one know it isnt and half the people in this town would too. My father did all the work on that mustang and he was an award winning mechanic here in maine for many years. He also drag raced down in ohio and helped build many custom cars here in maine.

Re: Kinda new to the Camaro world

Take him to civil court. That's fraud, and that's what civil court does. Get your Mustang back and don't buy anything unless it does what the seller claims it does. If they say it runs... have them start it and start some BS conversation while it runs, say for 10 minutes, and check the gauges, etc. If they say it has brakes then make them drive it and stop it. A short trip to get $10 worth of gas would have been better than the position you're in now.

I hate people like that. If he's unhappy with your mustang, tell him to meet you halfway and undo the deal.

Re: Kinda new to the Camaro world

Kinda liking the camaro now. Enough that I just bought an early/mid 80s camaro.

Yep thats right now I own 1 and 1/2 camaros ... WOO HOO... lol

This new one has a 350 in it and the floors are rock solid. It needs some minor body work as its got a few small dents and paint. Also the interior is all messed up but everything off the 91 will fit just fine.

Re: Kinda new to the Camaro world

Monster runs like a dream. It used to be a 5spd and still has the clutch lol.... Gotta fix the brakes and the shifter and then put in a rear seal we think as the tranny leaks.

Got looking at it and I think its a 1982 Sport coupe

Also just got a Torker II intake for it. YAY!. Might be gett'n a new carb too. Gotta love having friends with garages full of chevy parts lol.

If I can get that 36 dodge pickup out of the way I can get a pic of the new 82 Camaro. Or I can get one when we take it back out ... Kinda hard right now without a shifter or steering wheel lol. Well ... any interior actually.

holy mofo. thats fd up! (pics) the only cool thing would be to leave the hole open... when someone tails you, you just drop a ball or something down the hole.. have it bounce into the guys car or something lol

There got a card reader so I can use my new camera. Stupid USB hookup on the camera is broken.

This is the red one after we pulled the hood.

Re: Kinda new to the Camaro world

Well its been a while but the camaro has been hybernating in the garage ... yea thats right .. managed to get it in somehow lol....

We did find some bondo in the quarters and it was nasty under it so I just got some new quarters a couple days ago.

Done a bit on it but right now I'm waiting for a friend to put the new quarter panels on it so I can finish the interior and we can get started on the bodywork/paint. Mostly all I have done on it was the interior up front and stuff ....

I am in the process of trying to get a SS hood for it but I'm not sure if I will be able to get one before I paint it ... I need it on the road ASAP so I cant wait.

I got some pics of it but I feel I need to warn you guys ... if you have a weak stomach look away. Oh and you can see my other new ... ok its old ... toy next to it... Thats a 1961 Dodge Dart

Re: Kinda new to the Camaro world

I miss my mustang but theres no point in sitting around moping bout it ... figured theres gotta be a sweet car in that mess... it needs a bit but hey thats the fun part ... the more work you put in the better you feel on the first drive....

I know my heart was racing when I pulled it out of the garage. Since I couldnt walk too well last year this was the first time I got to get in start it up and drive and man oh man.
