Re: WTF have I done...

It should take us a couple weeks to get it all back together. There is a box of parts mainly consisting of the intake manifold and throttle body that we may not get for a week or two. That will slow us down. I'd be working on it this week if we had all the parts.

I'm dying to get it all back together, get an AEM in it, and fire it up.

Re: WTF have I done...

The EVO is a POS. It went 11.60 at 122 before the turbo's thrust bearing ate it. I really have to stay away from thrust bearing turbos and go BB... By the time I took out the Revolvers and put some 280s back in it it wouldn't make any power. Turbo is getting sent back for a rebuild, but then it's getting sold to buy parts for the RWD. EVO goes back on the stock turbo and nitrous. I will likely still attempt to go real low 11s on it. I did a lot of work on the setup to get the Green to work better that should help out the stock turbo as well. With the Shep Tcase finally in I can launch it again too.

When we dropped the car off at the POS garage Chad took about 70 pics. I plan to get them up on the site later this week. We're still waiting on parts to start work, perhaps next week. It's looking like Mike Turbo is going to continue to support this car, which is a good thing. Found out from him that as far as he knows the turbo isn't a GT45, it's a Borg Warner S400, which makes much more sense. But we're going to kick it down a notch until we learn how to drive this thing either way. Either a 4094, or something with a dry center like a T70 so we don't have to come up with water lines (that would suck).

Re: WTF have I done...

Cool beans. Yeah, water cooled turbos FTL. I see the point of it, I just think thats too many lines coming off a turbo. They are kind of a pain in the ass to hook up and thats just that much else to leak/break. Too bad I am going with the stock look so my choices are all water cooled . So you are going to drive it eh? Any sponsors or is it all on you?

Re: WTF have I done...

Chad's going to be doing most of the driving. I get to do all the tuning, so it's only fair I guess. Either of us can do the wrenching on it. I'll be driving it now and again for sure though, and definitely getting my single digit license in it.

We're contacting all of the companys with stickers on the car to see if they will continue to support us or if they're getting ripped off the car. It looks like Mike Turbo is going to help out at least a little. To be honest I'd rather do it all on our own, run some mean times, then look for sponsers to help keep it running. But any parts we can get free or real cheap will get us on the track faster without breaking our banks.

Re: WTF have I done...

I'm dizzy just reading the specs, let alone imagining what a ride in that monster would be like. It's going to be hard to even keep your foot into it. This is truely going to be a test of your courage. I'd love to see a video. There is however one thing missing. You're going to need a stick to bite down on !!! LOL

Re: WTF have I done...

With NOPI this weekend and more work than I planned on, I won't have anything up soon. We're still waiting for parts, but yesterday we yanked all the stickers and cleaned it up, and made a new home for it in the POS garage. I'm hoping the previous owner can get our box of miscellaneous parts down this weekend during NOPI and we can start on it next week.

This thing will definitely be a handful to drive. A different previous owner told us that if he didn't do a good burnout, it would get squirrelly when it shifting into high gear at mid track. And that was with about half the horsepower, LMAO. God help us...

Re: WTF have I done...

So I'm guessing you removed the stickers because of the sponsors backing out? That sucks!

Are you going to have it together in time for the SO?

Re: WTF have I done...

We didn't bother contacting half of them. Chad and I both have this problem where we just hate everyone, and would rather just get it done on our own.

Definitely won't be done for the SO. Well, it should be "running" by then, but I'm not going to rush the tuning on this thing, and Chad's not going to rush the driving either. I'm exepcting 2 full dyno sessions, and at least 1 track rental, just to get aquainted with this POS.
