I don't know where you come off with saying that 18's on a Civic is praticle. You do relize that you have almost a half an inch of Tire which means that your almost riding only on the rim meanning that if you were ridding on the rim itself then it would be sooo proned to being bent. Your rim is probably bent alreadyl. Have you brought it into a shop to see if it is bent or not? With 205/35/18 that is soo not praticle for a daily driver.

15's for style still look stock no matter what style you have cause its not that a drematic diffrence of a size from the 14' stock spare tire looking wheels with a plastic hub caps. 17's on the car are still too big showing just rim with little tire almost near the look of 18's. Persoanly its not my choice but, it is for some. 16's to me is the best cause you have a small portion of tire and a large portion of wheel; it's right in the middle. So far i haven't seen any good looking 16 inch set up cause the people that buy 16 ince rims are terrible at choosing style.

I got the polished alluminum 16' rota slips and everyone wants to know where I got them. Some people even said my civic looked like a small Beemer. My car is a 98 ex lowered to a decent amount with alot of basic outside mods with no bodykit. I need to pain the side skirts and when I do then I'll post pics.

Well first of all, my rims are not bent because yes they have been checked out a few times. And I never said that 18's were practical I said that they were doable if that is what you wanted. I was just giving my opinion like he asked for and then I get flamed for it. That is why I stopped coming to this website because everyone is always negative about everything. And about my bodykit and my car I don't really care if anyone likes it or not because I do my car for my liking! But all the judges seem to like it since I have been averageing about 3 trophies a show! And that is all that really matters.

I take it that you either drive on very smooth road with absolutly no bumps or you just use your car for show cause there is absolutly no way your going to convince me that your wheels are factory shape when you are ridding on nearly no tire. There are people that have 17 inch rims on 205/40/17 that are bent and your going to tell me that your daily driving car on 205/35/18 are not bent? Are you ridding on Titanium wheels or somthing?

Honestly, I don't care to convince you whether my wheels are bent or not because I know they are not. I drive my car very carefully and I don't go around hitting every damn pot hole in the road. And the guy already said that he is getting 17's so just give it up!

Well first of all GRLRACER is from Maryland, and Maryland has some of the smoothest roads on the east coast. I know this being right across the border in PA. And 18s are really strictly show, they can be unbearable on the streets.

I've gone from 14s, to 17s, to 18s, to 16s to 15s. And out of those I prefer my 15s and 16s. Why? Tires are cheaper and lighter, Wheels are cheaper and lighter, and more performance tires in smaller sizes for the Civic.

Plus the already torqueless Civic with 18s becomes a snail unless you are running NOS or Forced induction. I thought 17s were heavy, but 18s were ridiculous. I run 15s and 16s now for autocross and daily driving and it's a nice compromise. Off the line my car is much quicker on 15s than if I ran 17s.

Also realize since the tires are larger they cost more:
205/50x15" BFG KDs: $153
205/40x17" BFG KDs: $216

Are you read to fork out $60+ more per tire? THat's 4*$60=$240.

People who say that rims dont affect power are crazy. My car has more than enough power and is plenty fast with the 17's. But with the factory wheels on, there is a huge difference. How many people do you see down at the rack racing a a full set of 17s or 18s? Plus if enjoy replacing $150 tires constantly go for it. I use 17s on the street and the little factory 15s at the track.

Here is iLLuCiv99's 99 EX 4dr, looks decent on 18's, but he hates em cause he cant be as low as he used to be. He is currently thinking of selling em and getting some 15's, as I understand it he no longer has his steelies due to a fire.
