chevy sell them as crate engines, and you can buy them through main dealers.

you'd need the Allison auto box to bolt up to it, something like a T5 would get torn apart by the torque of the Duramax, and it wouldn't bolt up without a serious adapter plate.

there is only one 6.6-litre Duramax. there are other displacement Duramax engines, as far as i know. but all the 6.6s are the same.
