It's been my experience that women would rather have (as a gift) something cheap yet meaningful/sentimental as opposed to something expensive and meaningless... They like the "small things" that men tend to overlook...
For instance, when I started dating my current girlfriend, I went and bought a bunch of Hershey's Kisses. I took out all of the little white ribbons that have "Hershey's Kisses" printed on them, and replaced them with my own ribbons with my own personal messages or song lyrics printed on them. Every once in a while (while we worked in the same building), I would walk by her desk and give her a handful of the modified kisses. She LOVED it! That's what I mean though, it was a cheap bag of chocolate, a computer, and some inspiration, but it meant so much more to her than, say, a pair of earings or whatever. She still has all the little tags in a box at home... But above all, when your in dutch with the misses, always tell the truth. Even if the truth hurts, she'll find out sooner or later, and it's always worse than the truth. (i.e. don't tell her you ordered something and it hasn't got there yet or whatever).

 OH SHIT!! That sucks man, I'm sorry to hear about your unforunate "lapse." I can offer no advice that differs from the best suggestions already stated above (I think that higgimonster, DVS, and Yogs represented your best plans of attack to get you back into P Lady's good graces again). I wish you the best of luck P Man!! I hope it works out - and I'm sure it will

Granted I'm not a typical female, but I'd take Ci5ic's advice over any other here. The others are good, but thoughtful wins over $$ any day.
On occaision, my boyfriend comes over to my apartment and does the dishes and takes out the trash, just to be nice. When I get home from work at 3 a.m., expecting to have no clean plates and a full trash can, only to find the opposite. That's worth SO many points, especially when it's a surprise. Of course, any extravagant gift can be great if it's thought out, but buying something just because it's expensive (esp. if finances are tight) isn't good. Good luck Pman, and we will have a "million P-lady march" if it'll make her feel special. Or, you could fabricate an elaborate story about how we tried to do the "million P-lady march" and how you heroically saved her from public humiliation.

Actually, I just thought of another idea... *
Women love it when you humiliate yourself for their sake: I haven't done it in a while, but sometimes, when my girlfriend used to get upset or be sad about something, I'd sneak upstairs and dress in drag using her clothes (I'm talkin' panties, stuffed bra, skirt, hose, shoes, tight top, etc.). And then I'd surprise her and do a strip tease on the coffee table for her. Works EVERY time. Then one time, she anticipated it and tried to bust out the camera on me, so I stopped doing it. * I just know I'm going to regret posting this... Better get my flame retardent pantyhose on before anybody reads this... :finger:
