Re: Completed: Topless Daytona 365GTS/4

Hi Steve,

yes, as already mentioned, a fantastic model. However, engine pics ?????

What colour did you use on the body, metallic parts seem to be a little bit coarse, but those digi cams let them appear even bigger.

Holly... No way... This is too good to be a model! I can see that you have spent a great deal of work to make this model perfect. What a great looking result that you got going there.

If you ever decided to replace those stock wheels with th after market P/E "wire" wheels, I won't be able to tell if I am looking at an actual car or not~

Re: Completed: Topless Daytona 365GTS/4

Thanks Gents!

Well, you got me with the engine photos
To tell the truth, it was a quick shoot session and since the engine got a lot of my focus in the WIP, I figured that if anyone wanted to see it, there are better photos there

I've attached below a couple of photos from my failed session when I first finished the car last year (I hadn't got my new camera figured out the time) plus a shot from the WIP that shows the hinges in action - I hope that suffices

Good point! Well, at least there isn't any p/e dust in the pictures

Yes, they are p/e screw heads from a CM generic set. The p/e cavalinos on the lights came from the S27 set.

Grigio Ferro 106-E-8 (metallic graphite?) was my color choice.

I had been hoping to use Cobra Colors or some other original mix automotive paint but unfortunately CC was not available to me in Europe and other sources were unable to provide it so I went for my second choice supplier - Klutz Kustom Kolorz

I used Gunze Mr. Color Black Metallic and Mr. Color steel and mixed them at about 2:1.5. (these are great paints BTW and dry quickly and hard).

I do tend to agree with you though that the flake, even though exaggerated by the camera, is a touch too large to be perfect. I am still happy with how it looks in person though and since I am my own biggest critic, that's not bad

On the wheels, I am still not sure if I made a good choice or not to use the wire rims, but it's the choice I made and I can live with it.

Thanks again for your encouragement and to Andy and Gio for the party

Hey thanks for the engine pics!
I surely looked, and looked the engine pics during the WIP and somethimes again just for inspiration or fun I'm just too greddy and wanted to see others.
One question: What's on the windshield? The 1/24 top of the chic the 1/24 dude got with this beauty? It seems like it on some angles

That's because it is
I found it in the glove compartment when I collected the car from the workshop

At some point during the build, I just couldn't resist it but out of respect to our lady member, I didn't post the photo till now
