I don't like that saying, "Be color blind. Don't be racist." Color DOES matter, but it should not be a point of shame. A person's skin tone is one way of showing their rich heritage. There is reason to celebrate your heritage. I prefer, "Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight." (From Jesus Loves The Little Children) Acknowledging some one's race doesn't have to be negative. You can point out a person's color and it be a positive thing. Just make sure you don't make their color a point of seperation. Make it one of UNITY!

Exactly. What I've learned in my 36 years is it is how you deal with it that matters cause it ain't going away but there are still lots of good people out there and a few bad apples can't ruin life for us all.

Plus, you cant help but notice that someone is different. This will usually result in you treating them differently, at least for a while.
Of note: On TV, you notice black people less then you do in real life. Kinda weird, but its true.

When I watch TV, I dont differentiate between white and black people much (like Carter on Spin City). In real life, it is impossible to not notice someone is black. Its weird, but the TV is different.
