h22a1 thats right I said an A1!!!!! their 97-98 prelude motor 5Gen displacement of 2157 do you know what the displacement of the type R is? all you have to do is scroll back.... compression of 10.0 : 1 (hp of 195 @ 7000 rpm) whats a b18c5 hp at rpm again(sarcasm) and torque of 156 lb/ft @ 5250 rpm and the h22a1 is in an integra! I realize you think ive tried to insult your intelligence but I really did wish to keep this forum friendly.. now stop forum stalking me. furthermore little of what you said in the last two post's was true or made any scence, perhaps you should look at the weight of the motor? Also due to the fact he has a light car this motor will benefit him in the long haul. sorry shep. didint mean to blow a fuse in your forum.

Well- judging by the some-what high numbers of Turbo'd B18C's around- they are the ones to go for if Turbo is you thing

B16a's are allrtight with small turbo's- but still a good N/A choice

As for the h22 swap, yah its a cheap engine as in price wise, CAUSE no one puts em in there cars. Takes TOOO much work to re-weld frame mounts that cost 495.00 for decent ones, rewiring, re locate a/c if u want it, and u can't have power steering with the h22 in a civic frame. Lol u ever tried to turn an engine that big in a car that is too small for it, the over steer is horendous. Good luck there is a dude runnin that setup around here in a 98 hb and all i hear is complaints about his suspension and handling, coming from somone pushing an HKS coilover setup he should not be complaining and....HE IS. he has no complaints about speed cause his car "IVE HEARD" pulls 13.8 and i believe it. This setup is good for one type of person, a person that isnt goin ta use this for a daily driver and a person that has a lot of money. Cause I know how much we charge to put one of these bad boys in and its not a pretty figure.... Ta say the least you would be better off with the gsr or turbo charge whatever u have. So many people are swayin away from sohc, lol there is a delsol sohc here who pulls late 12's. He is doin fine, why not stay sohc?
h22a1 are cheaper priced motors, not h22a's and an h22a1 displacement wise is above a b18c5 or what you like to call it type r motor.... its an integra type R there's a type r civic that runs 184 hp 97 and up b16b civic, hybridsol is talking about a b18c5 there are also two different kinds of integra type r's one at 195 hp and one at 197 from japan. Also Ive done plenty of h22 swaps, you just have to know what your doing.

my father has never done a swap but has done a full rehaul on more that 1 engine. and for the idiot who said that welding a mount would be $500..if you own or have acess 2 a welder u don't pay shit!
i think the h22 is a great idea "bang 4 buck wise" as for the handling i have heard anything to bad yet, so if anyone reading this has an h22 swap in a civic how's ur handling?

hey sol??? flip on idiot's all ya want!!

seriously man just make shure you do it right, [everyone runs into little snags with any motor swap] try to make it as exact as you can, and it might take a week to wear it in. After that its smooth sailing. And no I didint run into any problems. It was a snug fit but that was about all.

just check everything periodically over a few weeks, but it should take only a week to wear the motor in to its full potential. (Driven regularly).
Its a tedious process but at the end when you see the finished product its all worth it. Plus you gain knowledge after each motor swap, good luck but you shoulden't need it your dad seems to be pretty knowledgable about cars and so do you with wiring.
thanks for the compliments and yea were both pretty good at anything honda/acura. Although you woulden't want to work with him on a swap he's too perfectionistic. Do all the wires really have to be measured before we splice them fitch? lmao its all in fun man.:hehehe:

where did u find a blown B18c5?

im looking into getting one but only if i can find one that needs rebuilding because im going to do all new internals on it anyway so why waste the money on a motor thats going to get rebuilt anyway?

i would really love to know where to find a cheap b18c5 or any b18c type
