Re: got one!

JESUS H CHRIST! ok this is the last time... i am absolutely sick and tired of this whole argument about 4 bangers and V8s yes we know that V8's have potential to be extremely fast but so do 4cylinder motors. it just depends on how much money you're willing to put into the motor and what you spend the money on. any car can be fast... i dont care what car it is, it can be fast... but like i just said it all depends on how much money you put into it. im just sick and damn tired of people arguing about v8s and 4cyl. its just a waste of time at this point. why can't you just respect the fact that that is what a person prefers and if they spend the money make a car and beat you thats that... i've been absolutely stomped by hondas before but i dont get all pissed off at the guy for beating me. i respect the fact that there are faster cars on the road and its actually quite fun to get beat sometimes. i just cannot believe people still have the same ass lines about cars... if you really want to talk sh!t on someones car come up with something original to say about it. ya he might have four less cylinders than you do but if he spent the money right its possible that a FOUR BANGER can beat a V8!... and thats a fact... so just leave it at that

Re: got one!

i've got a car for u that cant b fast nomatter what u try, a fricken Yugo.
yes 4bangers can b fast, but 8's r fast to start with. spend 10g on ur civic i'll 10g into my v6 and i'll get a guy to put 10g into his saleen mustang. they'll end up gettign the same result as the would have b4, on scale of course

you could probably spend less on a civic with that 10g's spent on it than buying a saleen and spending 10 g's on that. It's all about personal choice...calm down

Re: got one!

i am calm, i'm just trying to show u, u start with a slower car, and build up the power, and a person with a more powerful car builds it, and u both spend 10g, the slower car might b able to play a lil more with the higher car. but it would still loose a drag.
and there isnt really much that u need to do to a saleen to make it better, it alredy has 425hp

This may come as a shock to you, so brace yourself for this.

Not everyone modifies their car for drag racing, I heard there are other types of racing out there

Re: got one!

o i konw there r other ways of racing, i prefer road racing, like speed world challenge. but still u put 10g into a civic(which is a very good track car) and 10g in2 a mustang(another good track car) they wont let u race in the same class, the mustang would have an advantage of many things

I really have to ask... What is your point, exactly?

Re: got one!

So i could put 10gs into a Yugo and it would be just as fast as a foxbody 5.0 with 10gs in it?

I think what you're trying to say is if you do the same modifications to a v8 and a 4-cyl it won't make a difference. $$ thrown into a 4 banger is in a sense worth more though, because the bigger/more powerful the engine, generally the more expensive the parts are. i.e. look up the price difference between some long tube headers on an ls1 and then on a header for a honda civic, the LT's are about double the cost.
