Re: Gave "Slowass" a good bath today...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it the LQ4, based on an LS1?

Re: Gave "Slowass" a good bath today...

LQ4 is a 6L (364ci) V8 with around 300 horse and 360 torque.
LS1 is a 5.7L (346ci) V* with around 350 horse and 375 torque.
I think I saw something else saying it was bassed off the LS1 but I'm not sure ether. But th LQ4 from what I saw, isn't a hybrid motor from toyota. Its a GM motor aka Vortec 6000. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_Vortec_engine

Re: Gave "Slowass" a good bath today...

1. Genetics The offspring of genetically dissimilar parents or stock, especially the offspring produced by breeding plants or animals of different varieties, species, or races.
2. a. Something of mixed origin or composition.
b. Something, such as a computer or power plant, having two kinds of components that produce the same or similar results.

So, it's a hybrid motor. Taking the truck block, mixing it with LS1 go-fast goodies. Which is why we call it a Hybrid.

Toyota Prius, that's a hybrid of a gas engine and electric motor. Hybrid.

... eh... I hope that makes sense.

Re: Gave "Slowass" a good bath today...

LQ9 block. Very similiar to the LQ4. Same I believe, but stock for stock I believe the pistons were a little different effecting compression between the two.

LQ9 had different heads as well...but I am running seriously worked LS6 heads.

10.0:1 c/r instead of about 9.5:1. Don't the LQ9 heads have smaller combustion chambers?

Oh yeah, the Prius looks great.

Re: Gave "Slowass" a good bath today...

My truck is dark green, and from a distance looks black. But the color is just light enough to hide the dirt for about a week before it starts to show. After that, it just looks crummy.

I went for almost 3 months without washing it, mainly due to having no time and driving all over the state. When I finally did wash it, I was shocked... I forgot that it was green and not a dark olive drab/brown.

Re: Gave "Slowass" a good bath today...

Yup....cleaned again.
Little different now though.

Looks like I need to air up the fronts a little bit. Sagging a bit.

Track is opening this weekend. I won't be running for a few more weeks, but it is time to start getting ready.

Looks good... Again...
Man are those front tires skinny or what. Compared to the rear, to say the least...

It's how he gets the good gas milege, less road friction with those little tires.

True story.
