hmm sounds like the motor in my 72. its blown up something awfull, the fella who had it before me ran it with minimal water in the radiator and it overheated....
and well the sparkplug boots are melted on... so im guessing the spark plugs are welded in too... not to mention in the pushrod valley there is thousands of small pieces of what looks like what used to be pistons, connecting rods, and bearing material... fool messed it up like whoa! hahaha. i hate to see what happened to the internals, im kinda curious though... cant wait till i find time to pull the heads.

Here's my opinion...not that it matters..
Here are brands i would use for certain things, because each one has something better to offer than the other... Although i am mostly an Edelbrock person myself.
Intake- Edelbrock Cam- neither: get a Crane Cam Carb- Holley Heads and Headers- Edelbrock: superior in more ways than one. And go ahead and put a B&M supercharger on it while your at it.

yeah.. whats so great about them?
i find their heads and headers to be a tad over priced. especially for aluminum heads. I forgot about Isky Cams!... great cams. Crane is what i use, but Isky is good stuff to. *hits head* forgeting Isky.. argh me dumb!

I just thought about this. What kind of electronics do I need if I want to put a EFI engine in my car? Is the wiring difficult? And if I can't find the original, is there good aftermarket alternatives?

its a toss up, I like holly myself but the posts in this room seem to suggest a fovoratism towards edelbrock. so i think go with the higher vote.

Dodge had some of the neatest colors too I think. The Plum color looked damn good for purple and so did that bright green. They still do have nice colors, that sparkly bright blue and pure bright red they offer on the Dakotas looks great.

The wiring isn't that hard, if you take all the wiring attached to the engine, including the computer.
A complete drivetrain is a good idea too, it's just a little more expensive. Just make sure you get a good LT1 or LT4 motor. A good link on the LT1 http://www.automotiverebuilder.com/ar/ar99928.htm
