Re: V6 Camaro and Firebirds
Gotcha... well still the 2.8/3.1 are pretty weak even compared to a 3.4 much less a 3.8

Re: V6 Camaro and Firebirds
the camaro is more popular, thats why there is more camaros v6 than firebird v6. take of instance, why is there more aftermarket for camaros??? because there more of them, economics my dear watson. In no way im diminishing the firebird(pround owner myself of V6), but I do say that the firebird even though is heavier, has better looks and more curves, and a more eye catching line.

Re: V6 Camaro and Firebirds
if you think the v6's are slow, try the 4 cylinder. They actually made them for a while in the 3rd gens. Ive heard of them a long time ago but didnt believe they existed til i bought a camaro repair manual and theres a whole section about the 4 cylinder option. guess that leaves room under the hood to throw a huge turbo in there and whatever else you wanna throw under there. the only thing you need after that is a big ole fart can on the back

there are more camaros than firebirds in the v8 form too, not just v6's. yes the stock 3.8 engines in those things aren't terribly fast, but any car can be made fast as hell depending on how much $$ you want to throw into it.

Re: V6 Camaro and Firebirds
Yea, stock 3.8's are quite slow, but the bonus is that they have a lot of performance parts on the market for them. Throw on a supercharger and they move pretty good. But if your lookin for performance without the work, save up some cash and get a v8, well worth it. And about why camaro's are more popular: they always have been, since the beginning. I see at least 1 camaro every day, and rarely any firebirds or trans ams. Guess people like the look of them better?
