Is Halo 2 available now... cool (it hasn't turned up in NZ yet but we only go the consoles for sale in the last 2 weeks!)
Having used both the PS2 and XBox (sourced ex Melbourne) I'd agree that the software is the distinguishing characteristic. I'd also observe that the X-Box controller is suited to my rather largish hands much better than the Dual Shock 2 which I find has smaller buttons. This is the same reason I have a Nokia phone - my thumb has trouble with the tiny buttons on the Ericcson's and the Motorolas let alone those CDMA things made by Samsung and Hyundai. How anyone will ever use them with a decent sized thumb is beyond my comprehension! |

Halo 2 won't be out for another year in the US.
The difference in size in Xbox vs. PS2 controls is b/c of the hand size difference of American's versus Japanese peoples. Microsoft released a smaller Xbox controller in Japan (can't remember the name, I think it was Type S or something like that). It is much smaller and will be released in the US as well. I don't like the Xbox's controller at all. It seems big and hulky and the buttons are weird. I like the GameCube and PS2's controllers more. They seem very well designed while the Xbox's controler is some kind of freak mutation of Sega's, Nintendo's and Sony's controllers. That and I don't like Xbox at all. (Mostly because I hate the parent company).

But what pisses me off most is that my mate at school is taunting me because I am getting a PS2 instead of an XBox- his only argument??? The Graphics are better- he even said Project Gotham Racing was better than GT3 :silly2: :silly2: :silly2: |

Don't sweat it...
Project Gotham Racing has to be the most frustrating game I have EVER played! After spending weeks accumulating cars and passing challenges, you do the stupid SF course in the Fierzo, you complete each section cleanly on a lap, accumulate over 600 kudos points and you touch 1 f@#$%^g cone that was knocked over on your first lap and poof they are all gone because they haven't been banked yet.
GRRRRRRRR!!!!!! And it could have been such a bloody good game apart from that... (oh and the easter egg *SPOILER* is to make your name Nosliw - ie Wilson in reverse to unlock the other stages and cars *SPOILER*) GT3 is better for folks who like tinkering with settings and racing a car rather than doing donuts and handbrake slides... but the PGR are better but only marginally... Oh and the software for the X-BOX is difficult to come by too! |
