Re: whats everyone's plans for F-body

I plan on a lot of things for my car. Here are the only projects lined up for it.

get a fender and paint it dark blue and dark red $200.00

put the 400 in it with a custom grind cam $500.00

make the axle sturdy enough to not die from 400/400 and D/R's $250.00

make the rear air susp. adjust from drivers seat $50.00

Plus a few other things. This summer i will at least get it painted and the 400 in it.

And why's that? Handles just as good as any other car i've had in the winter. I've had the car 6 years now and I never drove it in winter just because of all the stories about how "bad f-bodies are in the snow". As long as you know how to drive and have a decent set of tires it don't matter.

VR4 in the winter? I shall do no such thing!

Re: whats everyone's plans for F-body

Plan to put a new starter on it, drive it a little if parents permit, then sell it in the local paper and resign myself to the yota for a few years.

Re: whats everyone's plans for F-body

f-bodies arent too bad in the winter. Quite fun actually. One thing they do well is slide around. sports cars are like motorcycles. in the winter its harder to sell them and you will not make as much as you could during spring or summer.

Driving my first one in the winter wasnt' bad at all. It was when the choke plate on the carb would get sticky and idle the thing at 1.5-2k some RPM and start to turn around at a stop because the brakes couldn't hold it.

Re: whats everyone's plans for F-body

I haven't had any problems driving in the snow. Only slide when i want to. Got out on a local highway going straight on the road, but facing sideways, for like 100 yards, then straightened it out becuase of my friends' complaints. It drives good in the snow, but the cold weather has had it's effect on parts. I never had a problem until winter hits, now i'm afraid to drive it down the street and back. It's been my daily driver through the winter while it's running, but the other 75% of the time, the toyota sienna has, and i HATE Toyotas, especially this one, slow, crappy, and runs on 4-5 cylinders out of 6, plus i can watch the fuel gauge go down.
