Anyways I did some research today. The FXX registry thread has some interesting reading. If you go here http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=85825&page=24 go to post #471 RTB (Rik) talks about JT's FXX. Kind of what I can make out is that it may have been a test mule at one time driven by JT and then painted and made to be another car, possibly MS's car. There is also a post here http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpos...0&postcount=25 that states he has a picture of the bare cf car but cannot post it. He is a pretty well respected guy on the forum so I don't doubt what he says. There is also a spread sheet in the FXX registry thread that has all the numbers (VIN and assembly) and there possible whereabouts. Sorry I cannot dig up a picture for you but these threads do shed some light on a few things. I can't wait to see you work your magic on this one, your Enzo was awesome. Mike. |

Re: Jean Todt's BFC FXX
As you can see the CF is high gloss
not a matt CF.

Re: Jean Todt's BFC FXX
...and the mystery deepens. Thanks Paul and this is almost perfect in that it shows that however we end up building the car, we've both got a chance to be right!...;-)>
The effect COULD be simply a reflection of the ceiling (combined with the low-rez image and associated pixilation/moire effect) rather than that of a CF weave in the image. See how the perceived pattern continues from the hood, is not displayed on the top of the front splitter section and is again displayed in the bottom portion, left side, of the splitter? Of more interest to me is that there appears to be no rear wing end plates (the flat portions that hold up the outer edges of the rear wings and attach over the rear fenders)! Truly an image that brings up more questions that it answers...;-)> Thanks again for the image! Bill

Re: Jean Todt's BFC FXX
Yeah I thought about the pixalation effect too, but it seems odd that that very same effect sharly ends at the hood line and the front bumper is solidly black...and also has light reflections that are solidly black. You are right about the rear winglets though... strange.

Re: Jean Todt's BFC FXX
What a small photo you are watching...
Maybe this will help ![]() By the way if you want to see this in, let's call it really big size, go here and click "get original uploaded picture" you can find others from the same day also. I think that rain and dust played with our heads no? look for the one where it's loaded to a plataform, the windshield. ![]() http://public.fotki.com/OrangeR/refe...x/fxx57oj.html What do you think? P.D. this is not considered a thread hijack right?

Re: Jean Todt's BFC FXX
Weird.. when you zoom in on the 'original' photo, it doesn't look like carbon fiber anymore, it looks like big flake metallic paint. The carbon pattern looks like a reflection of the ceiling. I just looked at the other pics, it just looks like black paint to me. especially this http://public.fotki.com/OrangeR/refe...3t1525283.html
but it's still awesome.. edit: "doh" you guys already said that it's just black..

Re: Jean Todt's BFC FXX
Hello to everybody,
The color of the Michael car is Nero Daytona Met. So this explains the flakes. There is no carbon on the body. Saw the car in December at Fiorano......but was not allowed to thake pictures. Now it is possible that this car is Tod's old car.... Jamme

Re: Jean Todt's BFC FXX
Thanks Rodrigo and everyone else!!!!!
So now we know that the above image is of MS's metallic black car and we can plainly see the wing endplates as well as the vents on the ceiling reflected on the body which "looks" like a CF weave....which means that we still have no clue as to what JT's enzo actually looks/looked like...;-)> Bill p.s. I don't consider this a thread-jack in the least and appreciate everyone's posts!!!!
