Nice to see you back, Alex: lot of courage to cut out an amazing Hiro body shell: but you CAN! I guess what you're still showing is just a 1/100 of the real job, I guess to turn out so perfect you have to tought and drawn it houndred times: at least works: bravissimo!

ciao
gio

(Edit: I never liked the '64 GTO's tail but may be a great thing let it to do the join ring between the GTO and the rear engine LM: good idea sir )

Re: Making of Le Mans Thoroughbred - '64 Ferrari 250 GTO

No.1 Rule for me in modelling is: Never cut anything on models wich cost more than $15

Thats the difference between boys and men and newbees and modellers. I will stop trying to build Model-Cars and spend my time with watching your WIP. opcorn: So please continue the WIP of your CS also. I Learned a lot from it.

Thanks for every word

I visit the homepage italianhorses.net from time to time. So I still follow your work with interest and your modifications for opening the door show me that I´m right watching your progress threads. So please show us your 360 CS. I´m sure a lot of people here will be inspired by your modeling.

Re: Making of Le Mans Thoroughbred - '64 Ferrari 250 GTO

Alex!

As I told you before, it is great to see you again around here!
And well, what a better way to come back, than with such a beautiful model, (touched some nerve here, ouch)
And wow! Cutting those doors it’s a very aggressive start! This build is a very promising one which I won’t miss!

Which glue did you use to join the hinges to the doors and body? I once tried cyanoacrylate with these same materials but didn’t work so well.

Cheers!!

Re: Making of Le Mans Thoroughbred - '64 Ferrari 250 GTO

How can I miss this thread???

Welcome back Alex. I've always been a fan with your builds. From the first time I've seen your builds in italianhorses.net until now, I'm still amazed by the quality builds you've accomplished.

This build is going to be awesome. I like how you tackle the hinges on the GTO and how you replaced the resin door with brass sheets shaped to a very precise fit.

Can't wait to see more progress from you.

Re: Making of Le Mans Thoroughbred - '64 Ferrari 250 GTO

A bit of an update - decided to cut the trunk open too :-)
Made huge resin mess cleaning up the walls. Also made the lid - looks like spare fits without major problems.

And as you can see, there wasn't much but the spare in the trunk...

Till next time. Thanks!

Looking good Alex. How are the wire wheels in this kit, the ones on the 1:1 look really nice, can those be duplicated in scale that nice?

Mike.

Will you open the fuel filler flap too?

Looking good
