RedY2Kcivic,
I have a cherokee right now and a blazer. Keeping "family" vehicle now. We have a son that is five and he is into sports and everything so I needed a lot more room for him and his friends. Plus I took most of the money from the prelude and set it aside to put toward our new house out there in CA. Things are a lot more expensive there thats for sure lol. We have a new condo here in TN and is huge but it only cost 100,000 (thats a lot for around here) but out there in CA that is nothing. All the houses we have been looking at are like 300,000 and up. GEESH gonna have to actually get a job lol! Nah just make hubby work a lot of overtime lol. Anyway so I wont be getting any new "toy" to play with for awhile I guess.
But I would love to come and watch some others race. Where is the track there???????? We will be moving to Carmichael or Folsom is it near either of those areas??? Let me know so I can go check it out sometime! Thanks!!!! :flash:

sweet
I actually live like 20 mins from Sacramento, very close to Folsom! They're both real nice areas. The reaceway isnt too far either, here's the website for it... http://www.sacramentoraceway.com/index.html. There's drags every wednesday night and the CMIs are specifically for imports which are cool. :coolguy:
And yea, Nor Cal definately isn't a cheap place to live, but the places you're thinking of moving are real good for young families and kids to grow up in.
If you have any questions about the area or anything up here, just PM me

Thanks for the info

Cool, thanks for the info on the track there! I will check it out for sure.

Oh and I just cant seem to get away from cars. Ive decided to get another import to play with. Nothing as new or expensive! Just something to play with as a second car. Looking at a couple of civics and integras right now. I have had two integra GSR's but never a civic so I am leaning toward that right now.

Moving day coming soon...wooooooooohooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BY the way.....out there in Sac.....what are some of the laws as to what you can and cant do to your car??????????? We really dont have any laws here hardly but I am sure there are lots there! Thanks!!!!!!

lol
We have more laws than pretty much anywhere here in Cali, especially with the imports, the cops hate us. They do discriminate, and it happens all the time. I've had bunches of tickets, and the cops will find something...anything to pull you over for. I've had to have complete walkthroughs of my car (popping the hood, getting under the car, etc) all the way to them busting out the tape measure to make sure its not too low. California also has very strict smog laws and you have to make sure that every part is CARB certified, and be sure to keep those stickers on the parts and those papers in the car to prove it! A very helpful site that jay@af so kindly showed me one time when I was ranting about a ticket that I got 4 citations on is http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/calaw.html Its pretty intense, but its very helpful and this way you can get to know your laws and if you get pulled over you can cite what is and is not truly illegal, and you can also build your car to the standards. Also since you're gonna be in this area, stay away from the Sunrise/Greenback area on Friday and Saturday nights. I've gotten 4 tickets within a mile of that intersection since that's where everyone used to cruise and meet up.

RedY2K

Yeah everyone out there has warned me about the cops and I read the Sac Bee online all the time and I saw an article in there one day about them talking about cracking down on imports. Thats no fun!!!
I wonder if I get the car while im still in TN and register it and get most of the stuff done to it here if when I bring it there maybe I could get exempted from some stuff. Probably not though. LOL
Im getting excited about moving now the time is closing in fast!!! And I still have a million things to do here first lol.
Oh and where does everyone cruise and hang out there??? Husband hasnt lived there in so long he really doenst remember and his brother that are out there ...well lets just say they are bums. They are twins and 21 yr old. Only one of them had a car and it just finally broke down about 2 hours out side of Sac and he just left it there LOL. So they dont know where everyone hangs out either LOL.
Well long enough gonna go do some packing later!!!!

Yea unfortunately it doesn't work that way....otherwise most of us would probably get our cars in Nevada and then bring them over :hehe: But if you do get a car out there, you're going to have to get it CA smogged, so it's just less hastle to buy one here, where all cars have to be smog legal to CA standards before they can be sold. As for where the hangouts are...that's more of a PM matter. Good luck with your move!

Finally made it to CA

Well we finally got moved to CA from TN. The Carmichael area to be exact! (near the river). It is really nice here!
I ended up getting a Civic. It is a 1994 and is porsche blue (kind of a bright baby blue color) and I have done just a little to it. Put some gold Racing Hart wheels on it (17") and exhaust, tail lights, and several JDM accessories.
I am wanting to sell it now. We got rid of everything else so that is my only car right now and I am wanting another sport utility for a little while. I go back and forth all the time LOL.
So everyone let me know what is going on in this area if ya know!
