Veilside Supra vs. Hennessy Z06

how can a vette, with all that lowend power not be as strong as a supra? doesnt make sense... and if we are talking non nos, the vette w/ a ttv8 would destroy a supra... you are pretty maxed at 1200 hp in a supratt, but a vette is still able to pull more out... think about it... and why could it not take it in topend? the fastest factory car is an na mclaren, so why could a vette not take a supra?

I see, your saying that the big V-8 would be better for pulling otu of turns? Has anybody posted the top end speeds (Relatively) of these cars?

in a manner of speaking...
the lowend tq does a huge amt of pulling...
i know that the turbos can help there, but if you drop really low in a corner, and the revs drop way down, the v8 has the advantage...
another note though, is that the supra has tons of power all over with the tts if tuned right, so they would be comparable...
but the difference to me would be in the dollars spent category...
you would need to spend lots more on a supra to get say, 700hp vs a zo6...
also... the zo6 suspension is godlike from the factory... not too much tweaking necessary there... vs the supra which needs lots...
wish i had the top speeds...
but i know that a purpose built supra can hit 220mph topend... and that is HEAVILY MODDED.
vs the stock numbers of a zo6 hittin 171...
what would it take to get a supra to hit 171? i guess that is the real question... what would it take for a supra to beat what the zo6 is stock...

for example... it took about 1000hp in a tt supra in superstreet, or import tuner, i forgot to go about 220mph...
it takes a tt lingefelter vette like 750hp to hit 202... hmm... math here... not to mention the better rigidity and aerodynamics...
and im an import guy here... the zo6 just makes sense

Actually, Lingenfelter got 226mph out of a 650hp turbo LS1, but that was geared high. So with a 650-700hp Z06(without the N20) geared lower, it could easily hit 200...

Even though I dont care for the Veilside body kit, Id prefer to have a Supra with stock body, Id still go with the Supra, I love this car...

im talkin about the one a while ago that was on motortrend tv... the white one... it is a lowend turbo package, not the balls out one...

oh, it was probably the stage one package. The 226mph is the stage two. Their both great though

my point. so it kills the supra, and makes it to 220ish and is still streetable, compared to the purpose built high speed jdm cars...

a 200 hp shot o the juice is nothing. if your motor is built for it, and you know how to run the shiet, you can run tons. there are prostock drag cars runnin two stages of nos, and the first one is like 400ish, w/ a second stage kickin in at around 800hp of nos... it can be done
and yes i know that those cars are torn apart all the time, but if you build it right, you can run that much hp in nos and be safe.

The guy that is actually getting this done to his car is having Hennessey install it while he is doing the rest of the work. I'm sure the take the NOS into consideration.

This has gotta be like my 4th time stating the superiority of the Corvette. The Lingenfelter Corvette does the quarter in 9.524 @ 145.25 miles per hour without the aid of nitrous oxide. The stock 2002 Corvette Z06 in Car and Driver magazine raced a 2002 Porsche 911 Turbo around a track using their own experienced drivers from each company. The Corvette won by .7 seconds. Good stuff. The Z06 is the ultimate American sportscar.

never a fan of the supra, and i love the Z06. soooo Z06 it is. the Z06 is one of hte only american cars that i like.
