Re: Should I turbo the cavy?
^^That sounds like a good plan. I would keep thinking of your goals in power levels rather than PSI too....that's a good start.

Re: Should I turbo the cavy?
I assume you're talking about the picture of the turbo setup on the RX7. The hole facing the front of the car is the inlet on the compressor side of the turbo...in lamen's terms, that's where the air goes in. I see you have an SRT4...you cant see that section of the turbo because your turbo is nicely nestled behind the engine, but if you could, you would see the same thing on yours provided you took the air intake pipe off.
Mine is the same way if you can tell by this shitty picture... ![]() you can also see the inlet in this picture...

Re: Should I turbo the cavy?
i know its the inlet for air, but y is there no intake connected to it, or filter...u cant run it open like that cuz it will fuck up the turbo
and FYI, if u remove my intake you can see the inlet, but yes the turbo is nested against the firewall in the back (makes it easier 2 get 2 the o2 housing and downpipe )

Re: Should I turbo the cavy?
my turbo as you can see, doesn't have any filter attached to it at all....i'm going to run mesh on it though. Also, it might be easy to get to your DP and O2 housings, but look at mine...i dont think it could get any easier than that IMO

Re: Should I turbo the cavy?
so your gonna tell me that i dont need 2 filter the air coming into the turbo? i dont think so...lol
im starting to think that he just took the intake off just for show...but you defintally need something to stop the turbo from suckin in water, or a leaf

Re: Should I turbo the cavy?
theoretically yes, there should be a filter on it, but its not required, obviously. and not many people go mudding or anything with their cars so water shouldnt be that big of a problem, hardly any water gets into the engine bay when it rains unless you go thru a puddle

Re: Should I turbo the cavy?
what about flying insects? leaves? ANYTHING!? come on its stupid 2 run a turbo without a filter....there are a number of things that can be sucked into the turbo that would completly destroy it...

Re: Should I turbo the cavy?
i have a few friends who do the same thing...on more expensive turbos mind you. I can't fit a filter in that small of a space, but i am going to run mesh over the inlet. Also, just due to the location of the turbo, there isn't much of a chance that something is going to get up that high. Also, this car is my summer only car. It doesn't see gravel roads, rain or anything that would wreck it....

Re: Should I turbo the cavy?
and as i'm sure you can guess, i dont have a warranty....there is somewhat of a space confinement if you can't tell by the picture or i would run a filter, but this way is a lot more bad ass when you hear it spool or pop the hood...lol
