Re: S7 Group build- I call it: Monkey's Orange

Nice work Oli! I really love the color, but the coolest part are the superduper rims you've chosen. The dark center in the rims gives that extra you need to make an eye catcher of this li'l kit.

Re: S7 Group build- I call it: Monkey's Orange

Just a little question Oli, but what are you going to do with the gaps you made on the sides?

Cheers,

Stijn

Re: S7 Group build- I call it: Monkey's Orange

Dude, let the man sleep! Ferchrissake!

The holes on the sides is to be able to put the engine in, donkey!

And of course, they also have a function as go-fast-holes.

I m not just sitting on my but either, it's receiving paint-threatment these days, so stay tuned (but not too much, just a little)

Now build stuff!

Would that be "paint treatment" or "paint threatment"?
Are you dangerous with your airbrush?

I have to ask, but how do you cut the rear wheel arches so cleanly?

Re: S7 Group build- I call it: Monkey's Orange

Thanks, Pirata!
Well, the thing is, I have simply used an exacto knife, first gently getting the cutting curve down, and later more violently.

In case you were wondering, I m still working and thinking about this project, here is some proof.

Incase you were wondering what I am planning, it's quite simple. I want to make a track car of it. It will have small mugen decals on the hood and it will have carbon work all over the car.

Well, enough babbling, I got my severly awesome photoshop skills, and I will show it to you;

BEWARE , THIS PICTURE IS NOT REAL ! DO NOT MISTAKE IT FOR A REAL ONE , IT'S A PAINT-SHOP!

C&C?

Oli

I'd leave it just like that. It looks awsome

Re: S7 Group build- I call it: Monkey's Orange

Too bad you already painted the scoop on the hood. I think it may have looked better if it were left orange and not painted or CFed (I can't tell in the pic?). You should have PSed the car first, so we could see where you were going.

Nice work, Oli.

Re: S7 Group build- I call it: Monkey's Orange

Oli,

Those diagonal CF decals on the fenders won't be nice. You hahe to make a straight line from the front till the back of the fenders.
Doing it diagonally messes up the sleek lines of the car.
A complete CF cockpit is too much as well. Carbon inlays in strategic places will work much better with this car. Too much will overdo it.
Places to carbonise are the back of the seat, the gauge panel, and maybe a strip on each side of the cockpit. Nothing more, nothing less.

Cheers,

Stijn

I respectfully disagree

Re: S7 Group build- I call it: Monkey's Orange

I'd cover the entire front fenders and bonnet in CF. Leave the rest orange. Sonething like this:

Oh and the interior may give you a few ideas......
PS, however you make it, you can't make it ugly. 7'S look good in any format!!

Re: S7 Group build- I call it: Monkey's Orange

Great build so far, I really like the F3000 engine idea as it fits with the ideology of the car. Just wondering how you made the front fenders and achieved that smooth radius on the outer edge? Did you take them from another car? Also, did you have any fit problems (such as a gap) between the nose cone and bonnet, and if so how did you fix it?
