Re: 304hp gtp doing 190+mph

I think thats stupid! I miss my Red Line, that sure was a fast car. Saturn said they were 205 hp at the wheels but they were actually 235 hp when tested on a dyno. That's 125 hp per cubic inch of displacement. With stage 1 and two up grades you get more hp and a higher redline allowing the car to reach nearly 170 mph but you also pushing almost 7 grand on the tack.

Those cars will get a GTP a run for their money when they're not breaking down. Mine sure was a peice of shit. Here are a few pics of it.

Re: 304hp gtp doing 190+mph

Thanks for looking at my page everyone. And yes...I most certainly was going 190kph in that video, down the 401 here in Oshawa. I was actually doing 196kph, or so the HUD read. I could have gone faster...as you can hear from the engine...but, things get hectic on a Trans-Canada Highway, in the middle of the day. Also, my shift points are at 6200rpm. 6300rpm? Hmm, can't remember.
Of course, if you had actually paid attention...you'd of noticed it was in Km/h....but that's okay, I'll turn a blind eye at your lack of attention to detail.
Don't forget...we use Metric Gauge clusters up here in Canada. You know..Metric...the system that makes sense? The system that the rest of the world uses? It's amazing how many of you Americans forget that point. And I'll say it again, "No, I'm sorry, I can't tell you where I bought a gauge that goes to 190MPH....because I don't have one"

The SES light was going off because of a dirty contact on my MSD coils. "Misfire #3" ...turns out they're garbage. Also, I had a stock DP on at the time, and there was an exhaust leak between the DP, and the Exhaust Manifolds. So...will that $100 be in US Dollars? I accept Paypal, Money Order, and Certified Cheques, haha.
The DP, and EMs, have been replaced with a W-Body Store P&PEMs, and a Hogan DP45 3" DP.
There was Definitely a CaseLearn after the new Delco DHP1.0 PCM, VIP Motorsports, the company that modded up the car before I bought it....did that.

And yes, sorry to say.....at the point when that video was taken, the car didn't have enough torque to do decent burnouts without the Parking Brake on. ...not that it does a whole lot of good, because the car DRAGGED itself.
But that was a long time ago. I'm sure it would do a decent one now, but I'll wait for my Rockers, Intercooler, and 3.0" pulley before I post another.

Oh, and to Mr. American Eagle, with the Saturn.... Nice car! Though, I think a smaller engine like that...2.3L is it? Would benefit more from a Turbo. Even then....it's not really any match for a now near 270whp GTP.

Thanks for the interest guys!

Re: 304hp gtp doing 190+mph

Well after converting its 118mph. I do speak french and i have lived over in france for a little bit, and half og the cars are in mph and some in km/h. I can convert. It was a good video. Do you have to learn french up there in the schools over there? I went up there a few years ago, and they only understood half of what i was saying, and found out they speak more or less hillbilly french, not the real french that everybody else uses!
vous voir plus tard! PAIX!

Yeah, the french spoken up here isn't the same as french spoken in France. And yes, from grade 4, until grade 9, a french course every year is mandatory. With certain exceptions.

As a programmer, cabinet and furniture maker, I'd have to disagree. you can't divide a metric unit by 3 but you can a yard, a foot or an inch. Powers of 12 work better than 10, giving you much more presicion. Hexadecimal is the only way to go. My house is on a third of an acre, how would you divide a hectacre if you wanted to subdivide it to three equal sized lots?

A mile is 5,280 feet which divided by 3 is 1,760 feet. A kilometer divided by 3 is 333.3333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333 3333333333....

Re: 304hp gtp doing 190+mph

I know up in Canada they did not like me a whole lot because i was not speaking like them. I learned French before English. But on top of french, i have a Boston accent. I dont think that helped the matter! lol

What kind of logic is that?!?! Who divides anything by such an akward number? That's ridiculous! Try Halves, Quarters. Maybe Eighths.
Because your house is a third of a hectare, we should all use the imperial system?
And we aren't talking about programming, or cabinets, or even furniture. We're talking about speed. And how is speed divvied up? in tenths. Like there are 100 centimetres in a metre. 100 metres in a kilometre. ...etc.
Everything is easier done by tenths. Including the temperature outside. Zero......is freezing. 38C is really hot. -44C is really cold.
Don't you think if the majority of the World uses the metric system.....it might make sense for the US to as well. Like...how many feet are in a mile? Isn't it a number of thousand.....with no reaccuring numbers?

Why would you divide a kilometer by three? ...You're going to judge a third of a kilometer? No, a Quarter, or half will certainly suffice. If you divide a Kilometre by 10...it's 100m. Isn't that convenient? If you divide it by a quarter (i.e 25%) you get.....250m! Isn't that simple, and very straightforward?? It makes sense, there are no random numbers.

c'est correct! I use both in my job. I am use to mph, and the way the US does everything.
