Re: $55,000 EBay Eclipse

Very clean car. It looks like he has spent a lot of time on it and I didn't see anything that was half-assed. Even the engine bay is spotless. To bad its an auto.

Re: $55,000 EBay Eclipse

I would never in my life pay 55G for that car. It deffinatly has too much going on. I don't really like the paintjob and the dragon and what not. It would look better all one color or maybe a 2 tone kinda job. Car is a nice show car but nothing I would drool over...

Re: $55,000 EBay Eclipse

Not only does it have one safc in the visor, it has TWO, maybe so the passenger can tune so the driver doesn't have to take his eyes off the road? And if they're going to do a taillight conversion, I'd think they would want to do something other than a fricken newer Bonneville...that's just my opinion.

Re: $55,000 EBay Eclipse

God damn, now I feel like an idiot. For some reason they remind me exactly of the Bonneville tails, but you are correct they are the S15's, I still think it looks like absolute shit though, too much CF for me.

Re: $55,000 EBay Eclipse

I still hate that car... The damn kid has more money then he knows what to do with... That car can't be practical for anything. Its built to sit in car shows and thats about it. Who the hell in their right mind would spend that kind of money on a car they can't even drive? The little bitch is spoiled and mommy and daddy probably paid for half the shit on that car... Pisses me the fuck off...

Its been a bad day, so I'm gonna take my anger out on this poor excuse of a

Re: $55,000 EBay Eclipse

I'll give him props for not bullshitting his way to making a show car, but I'll just never understand why anyone would spend so much money on something that just sits there. I bet that thing has never been driven on a road in its current form. Its just mind-boggling, just seems like no fun at all. Its almost as bad as the people who buy supercars and don't drive them hard. Sigh....

Re: $55,000 EBay Eclipse

I've come to appreciate show cars for what they are. They don't pretend to be anything they are not...they are meant to be flashy and stir up a visual storm, and this is what this particular eclipse is doing. It is no different than the lowrider folk. It's just a totally different arena. There are racer folk, and the show car people. Just two different categories, with two totally different priorities. A person who's a racer would take a look at my spyder and wonder what kind of turbo I'm running. A show car person would comment on the front lip. Etc.

I didnt mean to irk commentary on it's looks, rather, I just thought it was hilarious that he expected someone to pay $55,000 for that. Does he even realize what cars one could buy with that money? There's a 1300hp Supra on EBay for much less, a couple of Vipers and Vette's, and a bunch of very sweet looking old school hotrods. Shoot, there was a 10.4 litre '69 Camaro with 700+ hp that went for less than that. I posted it a few months ago.

Oh ya, the owner of the car is an older guy, maybe in his late 50's, early 60's - not some young kid

Re: $55,000 EBay Eclipse

I love the engine bay...well sorta. I love the cleanliness of it, but I think it's got a little too much bling. I dunno. I'm not into show cars too much. I can appreciate them, but that thing has got to weigh a ton with all the add ons and chrome on that car. It needs a 18G just to put up stock numbers with all the damn added weight.

Re: $55,000 EBay Eclipse

The interior has so many screens, knobs and buttons it reminds me of a mix between the cockpit of a plane and a circuit city all crammed into an itty bitty eclipse.
