The forum Eurosnob gives this car a

What exactly did that CS package give you? The 05' + Mustang is one of the few American cars I don't mind.

Just some light bolt-on stuff and a full exhaust w/ tuning. Once it's in the 300-320 whp range I'll be satisfied with her for the time being.

Re: New car (pics)

Knowing how California is the package is more then likely an even more restrictive exhaust system so that the car will pass California's emissions control systems. Man this state is retarded. Like maybe they should put some emissions compliance on vehicles that are known to create alot of pollution (Semi Trucks and RTD's).

Re: New car (pics)

I like the car, but not the wheels. Is it a manual?

Just curious, but what kind of problems were you having with the SS/SC?

Yup, it's an apperance package and it does infact have mad tyte stickers...yo. One on each door. It's the front fascia, side scoops (like the GT's from the previous generation) and a rear bumper with defusers on the bottom.

And no, it doesnt have any special exhaust to pass cali emissions standards. Hell, it was never meant to be sold in Cali from the fact that it doesnt have a front plate mount on the front bumper like a lot of Mustangs do. It also doesnt have the Cali emissions standards option like a few of the cars I have seen.

As far as the Cobalt's problems go...the mounts were all shot (yes all of them, GM thought it was a good idea to use the same mounts from the 145 hp Ecotecs for the supercharged LSJ...this proved to be bad...Like, DUH!) and the dealership was being stupid about replacing them. They only replaced one which caused the motor to move about horribly while shifting and caused massive amounts of wheelhop from quick starts from a stop. This lead to the tranny's failure (cracked the tranny case.)

The dealership replaced the tranny under warrenty but still refused to replace any of the mounts. I personally love that, instead of replacing $40 worth of mounts, they choose to replace a $1500 tranny. Then on top of that they completely fucked up the new tranny install. The clutch felt like shit, make horrible sqeaking noises while shifting and slipped badly even under light shifting.

There was also a clunk in the frontend which sounded to me like a bad balljoint which the dealerships could never track down and a few other issues here and there. My car alone has put GM in the hole for the year 2006.
And there were also a few other problems here and there that were always cropping up. None of which I wanted to pay for after my warrenty was out.

Anywho, to make a long story short...Mustang > Cobalt...

P.S. It is in fact a manual

It'll be out of the paint/body shop within 2 weeks...I think. It's only been there for 19 months.

Re: New car (pics)

wow why didnt i see this sooner... i must say i was kinda shocked when i saw that you of all people got this. but nice car! i love em myself (if you couldnt assume that already). im pretty sure that most people you run into are going to be jelous of your car... like me.

i love how they come with 3.55's stock. that really helps things out a lot as far as launching goes. all the mag tests had it faster than a ls1 gto 0-60 because of that.

Faster than an LS1 goat huh? I had no clue about that. So what are these supposed to be able to run bone stock with 3.55's...isn't it around 13.7 or so?
