Re: Me against that C6Z06

why does everyone insist that the Vette had mods? Read the specs. He said his car runs 11.9s at best. The vette stock is rated from 11.6s 11.7s. It was already faster. Not hating your car is sick, bro. Just trying to state the obvious, to the rest of the world.

Re: Me against that C6Z06

We are 5400 feet up.
I run 11.9 here with extremely thin air.

My car is a 10 second car at sea level.
But as you can tell from the video...the Z06 is stronger from that 25-30 punch.

Re: Me against that C6Z06

could another advantage for the corvette be its factory tune? Maybe its programming is better suited to deal with thin air conditions. Just a thought though. 800 pounds lighter is a huge difference so that was more than likely it....that and your obvious traction problem there. Are you ever going to bring the car down to sea level and see what she does?

Re: Me against that C6Z06

I want too.
Going to be a while though.

And I have heard that newer computers make up for the thin air a bit better, but I can't verify that.

Re: Me against that C6Z06

I am sure it was the weight difference.

I do believe it might have been different at the track. Mine is geared for the 1/4 and the Z06 is geared for speed across the board. It does better up top when my weight is holding me back.

Re: Me against that C6Z06

Well if you ever come down to Oregon you got a place to stay. Its only about 140 miles from Woodburn race way.

Not so much the computers as the air measuring device. If you are running speed density the alt. will hav a real effect on it. The Z06 is running a MAF sensor, there's no better sensor for measuring air flow. Also, if you are running a batch fire injection it can hurt you as well, though not always.

And to the person that mentioned his traction control...you turn that OFF if you want to race your Corvette, it really hurts you on the launch, even from a roll.
