Well then if you want to avoid greasy food here is the Replicant's guide to places to meet (and not necessarily pick up but it's nice if it happens) interesting and attractive people:
Ski Fields: They're usually young, athletic, enjoy having fun and like the outdoors. Where else could you sit without asking next to someone really attractive for at least 10 minutes and start a conversation about the weather, ski conditions, nightspots except on a chair. Think about it - they have nowhere to go! Plus if you know the field well or are a reasonably good skier you can offer to guide them or ski with them for the rest of the day. Cruise Ships: Again this depends on your preferences but you can go for two distinct groups. The Singles Cruise - where lots of chicks go on a island cruise looking for cute guys. As one of the few guys who'd contemplate a cruise you are hopelessly outnumbered by the available women. Alternatively, you can go on a standard cruise where lots of older, recently available women go (eg widows, divorcees) to get 'space' and 'closure.' Backpacking: Not on a tour (unless you want to find the ol' single slapper). You meet heaps of folk who've travelled heaps of places, had really interesting experiences and are independent. Besides with offers to share costs in cars, rooms etc you can meet heaps of people. Church: If you want an apple don't go to the barrel go to the tree. Meet friendly people who have a high sense of commitment - try to get them to convert you. Seriously there are really nice people who go to church and not all of them are trying to bible-bash. I have lots of friends who do go to church - it's not for me but they're interesting folk Clubs (but not a gym): Find a sport especially one you'd like to do but haven't tried. Wander along and be the newbie - get someone to coach you and play games for practice - offer to buy a coffee afterwards. The Gym doesn't quite work the same - everyone knows how to use weights generally and there are too many egos. |
