i know this sounds like a stupid question, but what is that little box looking thing hanging off the back of it in the second picture, it has the cover over it with chains hanging off of it. Ive seen it on a lot of the really high preformance cars and im just wondering what it is / what its for

its a parachute, we run 2 on our funny car, when they hit it puts like -3g's on your body
