Wow, Thanks!! It's so cool how a code can hold so much information. I already knew my car was Canadian based off the VIN, so that corresponds perfectly. No does that date also mean the car was assembled on December 12, 1983? ("I'd assume '83 b/c the car's an '84) Also, how many bolts would that be, 10? And it'd be a series 2 carrier as well, correct?

So the number above is for the axle that's in your Caprice? I figured it was the Monte axle the guy you know wanted to sell you.
Yes, that'd be 12-12-83 if that is your Caprice above, and it should have a Series 2 carrier. 10 bolts.

Yeah, the numbers were from my Caprice, I'm still waiting on the guy to give me the numbers off the axel of the Monte.
Now I know my car's birthday... It's gonna be 23 soon.
