If the scanner is self powered by an internal battery then it does not depend on the power provided by the connector, the cigar liter fuse is the circuit used to power up the scanner on this car, so if it reads anything at all either the fuse is good or the internal battery in the scanner is powering it, no link means the pcm cannot be accessed so check the connections at the aldl, then suspect the pcm.

Well it definetely was the computer. I replaced it with a used one, and it fires right up. Thanks for all the help!!
