Re: Exedy Stage 2 vs. ACT 2100

I don't know what all the comotion is about I'm running low 12 on my stock clutch.. When I do my clutch install this winter I am deffintly going with Exedy... I've drive 2100,2600,exedy. You 1g guys have stiff ass pettles anyway, so the stock 1g is almost exactly what a 2100 feels like in a 2g.

Re: Exedy Stage 2 vs. ACT 2100

Shit I'm running the ZOOM Stage II... it's pretty damn heavy... I can't stand bumper-to-bumper traffic, or lots of stops, or somewhere where I have to hold it for 2+ minutes...

I do like the grip on it though... I don't think I'd stick with a stock clutch in these cars, with many mods or higher boost. Then again, I drive like a bat out of hell anywayz... so what do I know...

Re: Exedy Stage 2 vs. ACT 2100

i dont know what i want.. probably a centerforce... they design it to put less pressure on the TOB, which in turn sounds like another great way to help prevent Crankwalk

Re: Exedy Stage 2 vs. ACT 2100

Road Race has a pretty good explanation of all of the Centerforce clutch and how it works and also compares it to the act 2100 and 2600....

http://www.roadraceengineering.com/ecldrivetrain.htm

And as far as flywheels and puck disks go Road Race also has a really good write up on those

Re: Exedy Stage 2 vs. ACT 2100

Well I just bought a fidanza flywheel ($100!!) and all I need now is a clutch. I'm now leaning toward a centerforce because it's a little grippier than an ACT 2100, but I no longer want the exedy because I don't want a pucked culch because it wont be as smooth...should I also get an extended cluch rod and a new cluch line??

Re: Exedy Stage 2 vs. ACT 2100

I sprung for the stainless clutch line (1g $20) it allows for a more direct engagement... it doesn't flex...
and yeah, I have an extended clutch rod as well... I might also suggest inspecting the pivot ball and clutch fork... if either of those gets bent, it can cost you a helluva lot more money (a whole transmission for me ;( )

Re: Exedy Stage 2 vs. ACT 2100

I think it's mostly up to now just what you want to get. There are obviously many good clutches out there, you just have to choose one that you like and that's in your price range.

Re: Exedy Stage 2 vs. ACT 2100

The centerforce should hold a little better than the ACT 2100 right??
