First of all , thanks all for your support , but this model ainīt worth of the compliments. I wish I could show you the paintwork of the Z3 to demosntrate that the F40 is total shit in comparison.
And , well , does the yellow F40 exist? YES. I can prove it because I have the test drive of 1991 or 1992 (the last year of production) in a magazine.Strangely itīs compared in the test against a rare one-off motorbike also in yellow.the test itīs done in France. I gotta find it to scan the pages for you to see it. About other colours....well . I have seen a pic , donīt remember where , of a white one. Anyway , I encourage all modellers to begin to forget the red for Ferraris.Itīs an heresy?? mm not so.I īm studying car design in Turin , Italy and..well, red itīs getting already boring ,better to see something different. Me , myself , Iīm tryinīto find a pic of factory 288GTO dark blue with tan hides. If I find it , mine , will be this way. Remeber the F50? Well , mine, will have golden rims.I have a pic in the Paris Ferrari dealer with them !! So `70s the damn car!! I just gotta do it that way. Well , fellows , any other stunning combo that comes to your mind????? A burgundy Modena? A met. brown Dino 246GTS? I even have a pic of white Daytona coupe..... |

I will build a Ferrari kit in anything BUT resale red. I'm currently working on a white Fujimi F355 GTB (not one of their stellar efforts). I'll post pics soon. My Tamiya Modena is a warm silver, and my Spider is Tamiya Deep Metallic Blue-a gorgeous color on the Spider. I want to do a tuner Spider in Fly Yellow, and a 360 Challenge w/o markings in white (to match a car I saw at the Atlanta car show...gorgeous). Tamiya MUST do a Modena Challenge!

good to hear it.
nice to hear about that projects zoom-zoom .Letīs put some originality on Ferraris.
Ah ! hereīs the pic of the engine bay. Iīm a bit ashamed of it because it was one the first in which I began to build scratch some pieces , and not very fortunately I must recognize. Well , good or bad , Iīm honest and here I show you how it looks. That pieces of plasticard existed on the car from which I looked to put the details.I mean the real one , from a magazine.Well this was how far I could go with my `91 modelling technology. I am planning anyway to redo the engine bay , throwing the nasty piece in the middle. http://files.automotiveforums.com/up...93Mvc-043f.jpg Well , somebody has asked If I have some more kits in my sleeve.Well, I have some more , but just interesting for the ill japanese car collector , not really stunning , I mean , not ala P-MAn , to be sincere. Iīll post them gradually for not to bore you everyday.I am always talking about already done cars, that is, I cannot picture the progress on the models which are half way to finish. I must have around 370 car models, so you can imagine... |

Well thanks for all the info guys I think I'm going to have to do mine in yellow!
Incidentally REAL Ferraris' are yellow that's why the Ferrari badge has a yellow background reason being that the colour of commune di Maranello (community of Maranello) is yellow, obviously the red, white and green at the top is the Italian flag colours and the horse? (cavallino rampante-rampant stallion) came from when Enzo Ferrari used to build and race Alfa Romeos and the parents of Francesco Baracca asked him to use it in memory of their son (killed in ww1) and they believed it would bring him (Enzo) good luck so he used it and it stayed!! IF you ever get the chance to get to Maranello then I would recommend a visit to the Galleria Ferrari on Via Dino Ferrari (just opposite the factory gates) in it you'll see the history of Ferrari and of course some fantastic exhibits! (F40, F1-2000 and even an original Dino)
