Re: U-Bend?

Timeout guys. Now you've got me confused....lol.

Exhaust manifolds, then exhaust downpipe to CAT convertor, CAT convertor, then ubend/rear 02 sensor after the CAT, then the resonator and then Y split to mufflers and then tailpipes.

I had mine done by a mom & pop muffler shop. Cost was $50 with the straight pipe and 02 sensor bung and included labor.

BTW - Technically when you get rid of the u-bend it is called a u-bend delete.

i was going to get my U-bend and resonator deleted. but the guy told me that he couldnt promise that the O2 sensor wouldnt break when trying to remove it. and i told him i didnt have 100 bucks for a new one so i just got the resonator removed

i noticed at idle it sounds alot deeper and more like a V-8....a very quiet V-8 that is haha. but yes get the resonator removed. but like the guy at the shop said make sure you have the money to buy a new O2 sensor just in case...

and why is everyone getting confused on where the U-bend is....for god sakes its in THE SHAPE OF A DAMN "U"

you have to let it sit to the side. you cant have it be vertical. it wont fit

ok when i went in there this is how it went for me

Vince- theres a U shaped piece of pipe under my car i want that and my resonator taken out and just a straight piece of pipe in place of it

Midas- well we cant gurantee that the O2 sensor wont break when we take it out. do you have the money to replace it if it breaks

Vince- no i dont have the 100 bucks to do so. just remove the resonator then and then leave the U-shape piece in

Midas- ok well even if we took the U-bend out the O2 sensror would have to sit to the side because the purpose of the u bend is so the O2 sensor would sit vertical. but its not necesary for it to sit vertical.

so yea basicaly all you tell them is if they can get the O2 sensor out without breaking it, you want the U-bend and resonator replaced with a piece of pipe or just have the resonator removed.
