Re: anti theft /anti start

hi, MT-2500 thanks for the attachement!
I just went out and bought a new fuse for the fuel pump and that didn't work! So, its not that. I also just tried giving it a battery boost, that didn't work either. The engine cranks over good, and the theft system light stays on after I start the engine. Do you know how I can turn the theft system off then? my key is fine not damaged, just the ignition where the key goes in. I also tried turning the ignition 3x etc. Any other suggestions. And I don't have insurance coverage for this, Thats why I need all the help I can get to try and do this myself.

If the theft light stays on then the system has entered long tamper mode. When your car was broken into the thief must have damaged something in the ignition cylindar which is giving the wrong R-code. Look for an orange/black and yellow wire coming out of the key cylinder and see if they're cut or damaged. Good luck.

Aftermarket Add on remote starter or antitheft may be different but if factory OEM.
I show a 98 uses the pellet in the key.
98 passlock R system uses a pellet in key syatem to set antitheft
99 paasslock TM system uses a magnet in ign switch to set antitheft
Both systems if factory oem just disable fuel injectors if tripped.

The only way you can turn it off is to fix it.
Look under dash steering column for any cut or damaged wires.
Does it have a remote start or aftermarket anti theft system?
Does it have a pellet in the key?
If the pellet in the key system measure the ohm restiance of the pellet.
There is a way you can wire in a resistor on that system.
