Re: Pacesetter Exhaust

I want to install an aftermarket Tach to my '98 2.2 cavalier.
I'm not sure of the best deal for it.
Any Idea of a tach adapter system that works with out problem?
Thanks in advance

Re: Pacesetter Exhaust

well in the middle install i found out the my cat had been either rusted solid to my pipe or it was welded after it was bolted. i cant tell right now cause i cant get it all the way clean.(got the cat sensor hit by the goo and it burned it out, made my check engine light come on)
|) /-\ |\/| /\/ IT!!!!
i cant decide, should i cut and clamp or take it to a "guy" and have him do it?
Does anyone know if how i can cut right at the bolts and the meeting of the Cat and the piping so i dont have to destroy my new piping. if i have a long metal cutting blade on saw, can i blow thru the bolts and not really mess up my cat? i think i am gonna do it. hit me up on any of the messangers i have listed by my name if you have any help on them, i will be on atleast one of them even if at school or work.

Re: Pacesetter Exhaust

Just go to a mom and pop muffler shop hand them all your exhaust components and tell them to put the cat and the cat back on and it will run you maybe $100 and some change.

As for the above....it would be a hell of alot more then that to install headers. Just the labor alone would be an ungoddly ammount thanks to all the imaginative brain work it would take to make the setup for headers to work. I know for my 04 it wouldnt cost much for me to get a header installed though.

Re: Pacesetter Exhaust

Installed the piping and muffler, this truely is a great sound. i want to use the sound clip and movie i have, but it sounds like hell since i was in the garage and my mic on the laptop didnt pick up well with the wind outside.

i would like to post the crap *ss movie i made with it tho, just for a starters and understanding.

Let me say this, take this toa guy you trust because he has to bend it, cut off more than an inch and make a few well placed welds. This is not for begginers whatsoever.
1)it sounds great
2)45 min install turned in to 2 hours
3)a deeper tone while not being to raspy
4) i guess i would say this is good, just let someone else put it on so you dont get a head ache. D-;

(can someone who knows how to pop up my movie, send me a message over Aim, ICQ, MSN, Y! or Skype? i will be on atleast one)

Re: Pacesetter Exhaust

The real test would be the higher/highest rpms and that clip doesn't have that.

Re: Pacesetter Exhaust

Yep, i am working on getting either a digital cam corder or just a better noise picker upper.

it only got the first 6 seconds of sound, it is missing the other 24.

i had it stopping starting high rev low rev and driving by all crammed in there. but i f'ed it up and only kept 6 seconds.

More to come on it. but in my opinion it is a great system that, needed work but, sounds good
