Re: transmission problem-no reverse
got two quotes. Transmission repair shop 2900 to replace with a rebuilt one that would have a 36 month unlimited mileage warranty. Dealer: 3350 to replace with rebuilt transmission with 3 year parts warrranty as well. Both places advised not to have current transmission rebuilt as it would turn 23-2600. The transmission repair shop would only warranty for one year then....This vehicle also has a problem with the ABS system that requires a new controller? Hard to justify sticking all this money into a vehicle with almost 90K miles on it. Thing rides like crap too. So many rattles. Feels like its going to fall apart when you go over any type of bump. Thinking of dumping the vehicle and getting something newer, maybe a horse?

Re: transmission problem-no reverse
Blazer is in the shop. 2900 for the transmission. 226 to replace front wheel ABS sensor. There also pressure testing the cooling system as they said it looked like there was antifreeze leaking out of the intake gasket. Ugh. I've never seen a drop of antifreeze on the ground from this thing. But I did just replace the radiator cap before I took it in as there was the orginal one on there yet. I read on here that the OEM caps allowed coolant to boil off. Now with this new radiator cap and the system under pressure, it's now leaking antifreeze!? Could I have caused this with simply putting a new radiator cap on?
