Re: replaced my main relay today

I will feel stupid indeed. But I must point out, that that is not a starter relay, it is a solonoid relay.

Re: replaced my main relay today

I don't doubt it is a solenoid relay. I'm just going by what that page in the shop manual said it was...

Re: replaced my main relay today

I must admit when I am wrong. I must have been hallucinating because I could've sworn one of those shop manual pages said "starter relay" next to "main relay" in the relay location page. But NO it does not. So STFU to me. LOL

Re: replaced my main relay today

Who knows? It could've been excessive juice straining the battery. I know I've tried countless times to get my car started and had it jumped off and floored the gas and finally it started. Some days I just turn the key and it starts instantly. Damn old car. I believe the wiring is just getting so old. If things go right the crx will be gone soon and I'll have a new SUV... I'm such a mippie... haha...

Re: replaced my main relay today

I have a feeling my main relay is going to start giving me grief soon enough..thisll be the third time in a month on a hot day that it has just cranked..usually Ill turn the key back and try again once or twice and itll fire up.

Main relay really has nothing to do with your gauges man. Either you guages are broken, your sender switches are broken, or its wiring related.

Re: replaced my main relay today

k ill find another set of gauges while im there. what are the sender switches? i hate electrical thats why i got rywires stuff when i did my swap but i guess nows a good time to learn. i talked to the kid that owns the car today and he said the fuel, tach, and oil temp all dont work. hopefully ill get it this weekend and can start workin on it soon. the clutch is bad and the head gasket leaks but i need a good project to do before winter, so i cant complain.

Re: replaced my main relay today

The speedometer is cable driven and also turns the odometer. The rest are electronic. It's probably a fuse.

Re: replaced my main relay today

yeah i kno the speedo is just controlled by the cable cuz i remember messin with it durin the swap thats why i ruled that out but i have no idea with the rest of it. ill just check the fuses when i get to look at it next, as long as its somethin easy ill be happy
