Re: Wip : 10 Ferraris ^_^

F40 progress... Body painted italian red ... Needs to be sanded down again also there are areas which need abit of sanding to make the rear hood fit perfectly... and they will be marked out in the pictures. F40 engine idea is almost there , just needs some drilling to add wiring.

Engine pictures

Enjoy!

Re: Wip : 10 Ferraris ^_^

Adding this baby to my ferrari collection! A 355 spyder . This will be done in black... Parts are quite nice , very little parts though and of course , i hate those fujimi rims~ So i think ill find something nice to put on...
Pictures~

Rims that i dont really like...

Sanding of the molded Ferrari badge

Opening of the front vents

Opened up the rear engine vents

The plastic was really thin ... so i broke two of the "strips" so to speak.. had to stop at there , apply superglue , wait for it to dry , then trim the parts

Cleaned and primed

As you can see , the parts were fixed and smoothen out and primed

Some reference shots of the 599 which i will be building when it hits the market...

Enjoy!

Re: Wip : 10 Ferraris ^_^

That 599 rally needs to grow on me. That is sad, cause I love all Ferrari's. This one just seems like a conglomerate of F430/612/Crapy wheels, etc, etc...

But, I also didn't like the enzo at first.

All you need is the right angle and color

Re: Wip : 10 Ferraris ^_^

Update on F355..
Work done today :
Mod the interior hub to fit to the body . This had to be done due to that fact that fujimi was lazy to tool a new interior piece.
Rear brake lights
Ferrari Badges
Added one more coat of black

I changed the rims to those from the 550M , looks sharper and more agreesive

This was the rear bottom half of the suspension holding + exhaust
Hate the exhaust , there was no opening and it was all molded in...

I first opened up the holes.. i then realised it still looked like crap. So i cut them off and put on those from the enzo . Enzo ones are slightly bigger so i had to sand abit to make them fit properly..

As u can see , I have to adjust them as one is sticking out too much..

Some pictures

Cutting the interior part , This as i mentioned had to be done to make the interior fit to the body

Badges being done up

Prefit and mock ups

Enjoy!

Re: Wip : 10 Ferraris ^_^

Interior up mostly.. finishing this project fast so i can have one more model to add to the ferraris for a meet at the end of the year.
Tried this new idea of flocking using white glue , water , cotton wool.
Not bad i must say heh....

Center console sprayed semi gloss black then applied masking

Dash was first sprayed Light sand then masked for semi gloss black

Interior after priming and colour

Little mock up , added PE Gear housing

Seats need work , bad molding by fujimi

Ill update more tomorrow... Ive finish the interior. Added details to the seats and added missing paddels EG. brake , petrol and clutch paddel. Body already done with another layer of black and now is drying on its first clearcoat.

Re: Wip : 10 Ferraris ^_^

Little update...
Seats were detailed with the ferrari badges

Body sanded

Then applied one wet clearcoat
Seems quite clean already ... sanded out about 2 or 3 dust marks

Applied the decals , pressed water out then applied decal softner and dried
Then applied wet coat straight as the clear wont eat the decals. I was confident just applying a wet coat and not bother about mist coats over decals.
This is after the 2nd wet clearcoat

Some mild uneven paint and slight orange peel but very shiny considering it hasnt been polished by my standards

Used the pennzoil shell to show its shine

Body was sanded down 1500 to 2000 grit... Then clean the "powder" it left behind. Right now i dont wet sand anymore as i feel i shouldnt let the paint touch water too much. Paranoid? lol but dry sanding works so why do the extra step?
The middle of the bonnet is polished with standard then fine and finially finishing compound to give it a smooth mirror shine.

Once again , used the pennzoil to show the shine.

Thanks for looking , feedbacks would be good!

Re: Wip : 10 Ferraris ^_^

Vyacheslav > Depends on how heavy... i did a wet coat not heavy coat. Wet meaning the paint looks wet.

MrFerrari > Thanks! Im making all the modern ferraris first then start on the classics

Small update : 90% complete. Left with Windscreen , front signal lights , and painting of the side signal lights. Added a rear brake light which was missing in the kit.I had to change the rims as the 550 set up was different from the 355 , which i didnt expect as i had no idea fujimi changed the wheel set up. The rims on the 355 now are aoshima BBS or rather stich mesh.

Kit after polishing

Car at its current state. I had tiny bubbles appearing on the cars for some weird reason... for 2 days nth came up and suddenly it appeared.. I took care of it by rerubbing compound on affected areas and the paint is smooth now , though not as smooth as before.

This kit is just a kit to display among many ferraris so i didnt put in that much effort.. dont expect too much ... weird thing is the f40 experienced the same paint problem. Somehow i got a feeling its the weather or something screwy with paint cans... WEIRD anyway i have a solution to fix it.

Enjoy!
