Re: Rode in a SHO tonight...

Yup, no supercharger. They are awesome. I can't imagine one being supercharged or turbocharged.

Re: Rode in a SHO tonight...

His is the 3.2 with an automatic... No wonder it felt like it would give my Talon a run. It would only be .2 seconds behind me!

Until my new setup is finished of course.

**EDIT**

Our first idea is to run the intake pipe down into the front and have it setup like a ram air system. I think that should help it a good bit. The stock filter is right next to the motor and takes on a ton of heat. Then I'll have him do a dual 2.5" exhaust the whole way out. I think those two things alone should help it to breath a lot better over the stock setup.

Re: Rode in a SHO tonight...

The supercharged car you're thinking of is the Ford Contour SVT. 200HP

Re: Rode in a SHO tonight...

Yeah they are, but they're relatively high compression so there's not huge room for potential unless you upgrade internals. A guy I used to work with had one and it would definitely suprise you as a stock Contours. My car's basically stock minus the exhaust and I spank him all day long.

My apologies. Apparently he got it from a used dealership from somebody that had supercharged theirs and then traded it in. You are correct. But it had a 2.5L instead of a 3L. Only 170 ft/lbs of torque though.

Re: Rode in a SHO tonight...

This guy I know has a SVT contour also and I raced him with a stock 2.4l cavy and kept up with him for a lil bit. I mean they are pretty quick cars but nothing really special until you do some engine upgrades.

They never made a SVT contour with a 3.0l engine in it. In.....

'98 the SVT contour was a 2.6L with 195hp and 165lb.

And then in '99 and '00 the SVT contours have the 2.5-liter Duratec V6, which makes 200 horsepower at 6600 rpm. and 170 ft-lbs at 5500 rpm.
