Re: Mazdaspeed RX-7 GT-Concept

Thanks very much. Photos don't do it justice. Now wait to see what I have to show you because I've added the Pearl Clear and finished the wheels. With the Pearl added, it's kinda mesmorising.....I think I'm hooked on the candy sprays now . Still have the TS-13 to finish it off.

Currently adding decals to the body and have decided to use just the ones in the box. Added a decal to the muffler too from the Fujimi "GT-W Wing Set & Muffler Tune Set"....kinda gives me an excuse to do the chassis detailed now if I want people to notice it. Only sprayed Matt Black for now. Rest of exhaust has been sprayed Chrome but I'll need to hand-paint the pipe moulded to the chassis. I'm glad I didn't CF the bonnet because it'll hide too much of the paintwork.

Haven't even started my interior yet ! Going to spray the wing Gun Metal and see what that looks like. I'm worried about glueing the wing onto the body though, knowing from past experience that the glue will smudge the paint. Guess I'll just have to try and be gentle .

And now the important stuff;

Makes me think of these whenever I look at it.....couldn't quite catch the reflection but it's there!

Pearl effect...

One of four...surprisingly!

It's pretty dusty so sorry for the amateurish photos. Thankyou for looking .

Re: Mazdaspeed RX-7 GT-Concept

I know I post a lot of slow-update photos, I'm sorry but bear with me.

Ok, so I've just stuck on the wing, finished all the decals and admiring my finest work so far...

I'm trying to take a photo of it on my balcony and suddenly, this gale force, hurricane mother of a wind blew my model clean off....so it fell....4 floors !! It's kinda funny but very annoying!!!!

The damage; spoiler came off but is fine, lost one wing mirror (going to try and find it tomorrow) and my front bumper received a large crack amongst other scratches to the roof. Gonna put this WIP on hold for now unless I find the wing mirror tomorrow (provided a bird hasn't eaten it or something). Might have to scratchbuild it with putty. Don't know what to do about the crack though because it's deeper than it looks and I don't know what to fill the chip with.

Might not look bad to some but I kinda have no idea how to fix the large cracks...any advice?

Re: Mazdaspeed RX-7 GT-Concept

omg i know how you feel about kit bodies falling down and cracking, had 2 of those happen to me way back, one day before those were supposed to join a local tamiya-sponsored contest.

i think you'll just have to spray clear over the whole thing, and once it's dry, mask off the good areas, and putty/sand/repaint the bad parts. and use some styrene to reinforce the plastic behind the cracked area. good luck!

OOOF! Sorry about your misfortune man. We have all gone through it. I lost my wiper off of my Carrera GT ...Oh well, there are way more important things in life to worry about. As for your cracks...you could make it into a drift car. Weather it up a little. Just a suggestion.
