In some way's I can agree. But his turbonetics kit costs 6500 vs brand new kit for the seven HKS To4-Z which is 6800 an will alot far greater numbers.

Re: First loss... (Knew it but still went ahead)

You can't really include the price of the car towards what it runs. Not everyone wants to drive a 2000 dollar stripped hatch with no A/C, no back seats, and no power anything with a K20/24 Turbo Frankenstein motor running 10's for under 15K.

And as far as your turbo kit producing so much more power than the 350Z's for only 300 more dollars, you have to realize they have had over 10 years to research and engineer a badass kit for your car. The 350Z is relatively new, its gonna take some time to develop a mass produced kit that gains a good amout of power, just give it some time, something better will be out.

Re: First loss... (Knew it but still went ahead)

The Z has been out since o1 that's plenty of time. Even then FD's were amassing great amounts of power for far cheaper before the Z came to be.

Re: First loss... (Knew it but still went ahead)

The 350Z came out late 2002 as a 2003 model for its debut. RX-7 tuners had 10 years to research & develop and mass produce all sorts of modifications for the FD to make impressive numbers before anyone could even buy a 350, not to mention its a lot easier to get big numbers out of engines designed for boost, as opposed to the Z which was designed to be naturally aspirated.

And in no way think I am a RX-7 or rotary hater, I love both and plan on putting in a 13B, 20B if I can afford it down the line, in my mazda miata.

Re: First loss... (Knew it but still went ahead)

exactly. for a car that is around the same straight speed as you and with $6500 it put 8 car lengths on you, or 2 bus lengths, thats impressive to me, even if SOME cars can do it cheaper, its new and with 7 grand more its running with ferrari's and Z06's

Re: First loss... (Knew it but still went ahead)

So in 3-4 gears, you beat a brand new, non-broken in, bone stock 350Z by 4 car lenghts.

Then one with a $6500 turbo kit and im sure some supporting mods, maybe $8500 total beats you by 8 cars in a little over 2 gears.

A 12 car lenght difference with 8500 dollars is pretty impressive in my eyes.

I love FDs but jcsaleen it seems like your a little full of yourself by the way you have been talking cars down. I bet my car cost less then yours and will give your FD a run for its money in a straight line and especially in the curves However you don’t see me saying FDs are slow.

My friend has a 944 an even he said his car wouldn't have shot, I've been in i plenty of times the stock just ain't enough. As far as me talking highly of my car I talk highly of the 6 Jap cars that in my opinion are the greatest to ever come out of Japan as far as stock and modifying capability not to mention their long history. 1.Nsx 2.Supra 3.Rx7 4.Vr-4 5.Skyline 6.Lancer (Evo)

I love jap cars but but I'll be honest I have a grudge against 350's ever since they replaced the beautiful R34 in JGTC which and the 350's were less dominant. I think the 350Z is highly overrated, I'm sure they're are turbo versions but it's like saying how good an N/a supra is...

My honest opinion is that the 350Z is highly overrated an that it wasn't even nissans prime focus. They definetly didn't put all the time into that (probably the R35) and they have 5 years to perfect and make it faster which is TON's of time as far as development goes even for aftermarket companies.

Lol...

But seriously yes that is my plan eventaully right now my car has 46k miles on a beautiful FD and it handles amazing with the rotor in it. If I did the swap now my rotor friends would KILL ME! My goal is after about 120 on the body I'm going to do an Ls1 an make it a full track car. It all depends because I'm a weight freak. I'll have around 700 with a nice single (To4-Z <- thats in january or Feb hopefully) by that time so who knows.

I said in 3-4 gears because you raced the modded Z up to third, which you clearly stated in 3-4 gears you put 4 cars on the stocker. If you were to race this turbo Z from a low roll all the way up to 110, instead of a 2 gear race, you would have lost by way more than 8 car lengths.
