If you do ghetto mods to your car, your car will look ghetto.

Personally I hate it when people just paint their hoods black... Its SO cheap looking, I just think if you want a CF hood, save up and buy one.. If you just want your chips fixed then why not paint it with the matching colour.. Sure it will be a bit different then the faded paint on the rest of the car, but at least it won't totally be a different colour all together.

I agree with SiZ...

I see people with black hoods on their cars (most of them have the fake hood pins too), and it looks pretty weak. Carbon fiber is cool because it's light, but I still think that a black hood (carbon fiber or otherwise) on a car whose color is anything other than black is dumb looking.

my opinion.

What is? Compensation, or the thought of your new hood getting dinged?

I like the look of CF a lot, it isn't pure black, if you've seen it in real life its a cool sort of weave of different colors, and if you clean the hood off real well sort of 3d shimmering comes off it like those magic eye books.

I think the CF look depends on the car its on. It goes on some, but not others.

I gotta say I agree with YellowMaranello.. The CF hood has to suit the cars overall style in order to work properly in a daker colour for me.

As IAIA said, carbon fiber doesn't look like a primered hood when you're not looking at them on the internet, you can really see the refelction of the weave and it give the hood distinct definition.. Instead of making the car look like it was peiced together and a wrecking yard.

Plus, if it was real CF it would serve a purpose.. If it was just painted to look like it was carbon fiber it would be just as goofy as getting stickers on your car for parts you don't have.. Wait a minute.. Thats EXACTLY what it iS!
