Re: Need Help!!!!

I think he might just be asking where the ones on the battery go...at least thats what it sounds like to me. There are two. One goes to the firewall right beside the battery on the right. The other goes down on the engine block near where the bolts for the starter are.

ok so i checked every single one of them, except the one by the tranny and the motor, and they're all 0.7-.8.

from reading http://vfaq.com/index-main.html in electrical -> ecu capacitors, i am noticing that i hear the ECU clicking when i put a small lightbulb in the place where the mpi fuse is supposed to go, which one of the symptoms of a leaking capacitor. could it be the ecu?

It could be the ecu. Follow their procedure, I am no expert.

Re: Need Help!!!!

well i got sick and tired of trying to fix the damn problem, so i took the car to a shop. they're gonna try to find the problem, but the thing is they charge $70/hour for electrical work!!!

first they will pinpoint the problem...then let me know whats wrong and finally, depending on the severity of the problem, they can give me an estimate on the total job...wish me lots of luck

I think you should've at least pulled the ECU first. I sure hope they don't charge you $140 just to find out what's wrong with it.

Re: Need Help!!!!

i did pull the ecu, it was fine.

i just got the car today and the problem was that the guy who i bought the car from used speaker wire to hook up the power for the radio. it fried up some wires around it.

i also got more horrible news tho...they did a compression check and they apparantly got 150, 0, 25, 75. so either way i'm screwed.

gonna do the comp check with my buddy. maybe the headgasket is messed up idk. could it be bad sparkplugs? i knew something was wrong when i only got like 16mpg!

Did you just buy this car? If so how much did you pay for it?

It can't be bad spark plugs because the compression tester screws in where the spark plugs go. You're going to have to at least tear the head off. Check out the head gasket, check your head and block for flatness. If all that checks out you're going to need a rebuild.

Re: Need Help!!!!

yeah i just bought the car for $2500. the interior and exterior are both flawless, except for some normal wear and tear for a 15 year old car.

yeah the whole engine thing does not sound too good.
