Re: Yes or No?

I say go for it. Offer $18,500 for it, but don't pay more than $19,000. Oh, and finance it with a credit union instead of the dealership.

If you need more space, you can get a wagon.

Re: Yes or No?

I say don't go for it. For $2-3K more you can get an 03 Evo. The Evo doesn't have a cheesy tranny, and has infinitely more potential. I do like the WRX alot though, I just think they want too much for that car. New they can be had for $24-25K. It's the STi's that are expensive (You can get one for $23K in my area used).

Get an STi or an Evo. Just keep saving up money. Don't go with just semi faster, go all the way.

Yeah, I agree with you, save up a bit more, and you will have a better car.

Re: Yes or No?

the thing is, the STIs insurance for me is too much, the wrx is gonna cost me around 210 bucks a month, i couldn imagine the STI being around 250+. For my area the WRX is priced low, KBB on that car is around 22,000, the dealer said the lowest he can go is like 20082.20 out the door.

Now i also found a 2006 Cobalt SS Superchared with 5,000 miles for 18,000 which is a really good deal. But its red and its a boy racer type car.

I asked the dealer how long of a factory warranty subaru had, if its like 70,000 miles, i might get the subaru, but i also just might lease a brand new for right now. So i wont be able to mod it, im sure ill be able to do a small reflash here and there without them noticing. But then my monthly payments will be lower and i wont have to worry about the tranny, so if the car is crap after 2 years i dont have to worry about anything, but if its working great i can turn around and buy it.

Re: Yes or No?

Whatever you go with, I agree with whoever said it above, never finance through a dealership. Set up the financing with an outside source, local private banks usually offer great rates, and even national bank chains will usually offer better loans then the dealerships. Dealerships take every chance they can get to screw you when they know your credit score.

Also try and put down more than 2k, it will help get you a lower rate.

Re: Yes or No?

I don't like the idea of leasing a car. After you pay off a car you have some equity. Also in my experience alot of times the dealership will rape you for the purchase of the car. They nail you with mileage.

This is just what i've heard, as I typically try to purchase whatever vehicle I buy. I plan on just making the remaining 3 years of payments on my WS6. If, and when that happens, its motorcycle time (Can't beat 40mpg).

Re: Yes or No?

well the warranty from the factory is 6 years 60,000 miles. So its got about 3 more years of warranty left. I was gonna try and save up another 1,000 bucks to put 3 grand down, then my monthly payments would be some where around 320 with 7% interest. Right they would be about 350. My insuranceis high because when i was 17 i got a speeding ticket and when i was 18 i got a drinking and driving ticket, misdeminor. Im 22 now and even though my insurance company says its not charging me for it, i know they are.
