I agree. If i were you i would pay off the stang as fast as possible and sell the formula and stang and buy a beautiful LS1 and a beater

Re: Here is my new ride, 2006 Mustang GT Premium!

I would sell the Mustang while its worth somthing. They are making so many of em that its never going to have any resale value if its driven and a bunch of miles are put on it. The way ford is selling them, Pretty soon its going to be like the movie " Cat in the Hat", where everybody is driving the same dang car. As it sits its already a 1 owner used car now. The "buy me red, buy me black" may have already hurt the resale some, even though i would have went with the same color probably. If he could find a buyer with 23-27k cash money he could pay it off and stash the cash for whatever he wanted. Might even be able to find a car lot with the LS1 he was after before the Mustang came into play, who would swap em' straight up, and pay off the bill. 27,000 dollars will afford a car that would make him forget all about the Mustang..just my opinion. Heck he could even swap it in somwhere for a brand new GTO. Never know though he could like the Mustang more than the thought of driving around an LS1 6 speed.

That Mustang is a very nice car, im not trying to knock it but ive seen a lot of those 4.6's roll off the dealership lot already burning oil. They are a dang good motor but they have a nasty habit of burning oil. and its not just the SOHC motors that do it. They may have fixed the problem or the configuration may be a little different this year, but i couldnt count all the cars ive seen with a 4.6 in them that leave a cloud behind them when they are put to the floor. Especially the Lincoln Towncars. My crown vic for instance, doesnt leak a drop but darn it, i get sick of checking the oil and finding it low. It doesnt lose oil too bad considering it has almost 170,000 miles, but i just hate the thought of sombody behind me seeing any smoke and thinking "what a Piece of crap".

Hes gonna prolly keep it and sell his Firebird. wich is cool too like i said its a very nice car but if its not what you really want why end up spending all that money when your heart is set on somthing else. Especially when by the time its payed off its will be worth way less than what you have agreed to give for it. Do you go to the store and buy a pair of jeans that "arent you"?

Check out the dark blue LS1 WS6 for $18,000 they got up for bids on ebay. hubba hubba. "wish i had a 6 speed"! A guy offered the owner a $64,000 Cadillac Seville STS for it and he refused it.

Re: Here is my new ride, 2006 Mustang GT Premium!

I'm mostly a 5.0 guy but, I've never heard anything about the 4.6 burning or leaking oil, unless they have a ton of miles on them anyway. I know quite a few people with a 4.6 Stang and never heard anything but good things. Except that there is less room to work on them compared to the good ole 5.0. The bottom end of those things (I hate to say this) are stronger than the 5.0. I know you mentioned that the 4.6 is good aswell, so I know your not doggin it.

Another thing, I know Ford made tons of 4.6 Stangs and with me knowing about 10 people with one, that doesn't mean that the other millions of Mustangs are the same way. But, I think it's a good average.

Bloomington is about 1.5 hours away, south on I-55, central Illinois. You are real close to Route 66 Raceway. It's a 1/4 mile dragstrip and NASCAR track. They're having a Ford race/show next Sat./Sun.

Yo doodad, its harder to shift 2-3 if you have a short throw shifter..especially if youre used to the wider one already.. when i first got mine, i used to go from 2-5 >_< , yeah its faster shifts..but its a little scary when youre not sure what gear your slamming it into..

the new GT is a 6 speed right? cuz if its a 5 i take it all back, it gets so much easier to drive a 5..
